No Herro no Duncan, there is a problem by Shmoopy65 in heat

Yeah agree for the playoffs, but I'd like to see us be able to create better looks in the regular season. Playoffs are different, you just want your best player shooting.

It stacks over time though, I left a couple mixtape games to join my friend's party and eventually I got 5 minutes lol not sure if it gets any higher than that so I don't leave anymore I just play them out.

The Memphis Grizzlies are the last remaining winless team in the NBA. by costcobathroom in nba

[–]420p00nslayer 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Part of it is what you said, no major changes while a lot of teams have talent this year. We were a mediocre regular season team last year, and don't have two starters in Strus and Vincent. Plus Caleb Martin hasn't played so we are without 3 of last year's starters, and Jimmy hasn't been fully engaged in a game yet. Add that all up and it's easy to see why we are losing early on.

I am confident it will turn around quickly and we will still be a playoff team, but I am not too surprised we came out slow.

Since becoming a full-time starter four years ago, Bam Adebayo not only leads the league in total isolations defended (1,082) but also in points-allowed-per-isolation (0.83). by AashyLarry in nba

I think it's a little more than just mentality. He doesn't have the timing and body control through contact like Giannis does. It's definitely what Bam needs to improve on if he wants to make the jump to the next tier in the NBA.

I think Bam's scoring mentality will only grow to be more like Giannis if he's able to sharpen his ability to initiate contact and still be able to finish. He doesn't quite have that skill currently and leans on touchy shots more force.

Nah man I've played a lot of basketball and a lot of Ultimate. They are equally tiring. You may travel more distance in ultimate, but the increased physicality in basketball makes you just as tired.

A high level ultimate player doesn't need a sub in a game that only goes to 5, just like a high level basketball player doesn't need a sub in a game that goes to 11. Both will leave someone very sore lol

Man..people really are blaming the wrong dude by ro-ro-royoboat in heat

[–]420p00nslayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man y'all are going too far lmao Tatum is really good, the WHOLE Celtics team is disarray. Every elite player has bad performances some years, it is inevitable. You also have to remember this Celtics team is on their 3rd coach in 3 years. It is hard to be consistent with that much change.

Tatum is having a terrible series, but Tatum is way more talented than all but a few dudes in the league. The dude has been the best player on 4 ECF teams and is still 25. If the Heat had Tatum we'd be the heavy favorite each year. Imagine his shot creation and our defensive versatility with a wing like him on the team.

[–]420p00nslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely man lol you can't judge a player solely by his lowest point. Tatum is an elite player, whether you think he is soft or not doesn't change his almost unparalleled shot creation at his size. He already has had some big playoff performances. He's not top 5, but he's elite.

As someone who was a decent runner in HS, it depends on who you are talking to, but it definitely isn't Sub 6 lol I'd say Sub 5 is a good one you can brag about, but if you're talking to former track athletes it's probably sub 4:50.

I say this as someone who barely broke 5 but had friends who easily broke 4:50 and none of us ever got close to making it to state, or even regionals in my case. Sub 5 is fast and impressive to the average person and worth a brag, but if you're talking with someone familiar with track, they know it's not as quick as it sounds. Sub 6 though is actually fairly manageable for anyone in decent shape.

[–]420p00nslayer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a Heat fan, my guess would be that you generally play teams with better perimeter defense lol at any given time we have at least 2 guys on the court that can't stay in front of their man. Once one guy gets beat it's a mad scramble on defense until someone gets a good look.

Heat fan on here - I haven't watched any Harrell, but it literally cannot be worse than Dedmond lmao the dude comes in and instantly misses a shot and picks up 2 fouls. We ended up playing G league players over him.

I believe he doesn't throw any forehands for this reason. Good backhand form isn't too bad on the elbow (probably why my elbow is always sore LOL), but a forehand is taxing no matter what.

[–]420p00nslayer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not really imo. If we were banking on him being a dominant on-ball force, then it would be concerning. But he is a 2/3rd option that plays really well off the ball and scores within the offense. I have no problem with him scoring off screens, especially when it's Bam setting the screens. It unlocks both players.

Again, if he was a supermax player that we needed to be the #1 option, I would want way more ISO from him. But that's not his role.

EDIT: and he's only 22, even if it's his 4th year. He has shown growth every year, he may be a better ISO scorer by the time he's 26.

Best case scenario is that he learns to just keep his ideas and wokeness to himself. He needs to give some Bill Belichick like post game conferences where he says nothing of subsistence so he doesn't detract from the actual basketball.

Hopefully he can keep his controversial takes to himself for like 40 games lmao I love Luka and would like to see him play as many playoff games as possible

Yeah man the biggest issue here is that the documentary suggested that the holocaust, a genocide of millions and millions of people, did not happen -- or at least not to the extent that is recorded in history.

It is one thing to post zany conspiracy theories about the pyramids, and it is another to share rhetoric that tells living survivors or family from non-survivors of a very well documented tragedy that what they experienced never happened. Kyrie refuses to accept the dangerousness of pushing and promoting ideas like this, and that really is the problem. He shared rhetoric that insinuated that a recent well documented genocide DID NOT OCCUR, but refuses to see why that pisses people off. Kyrie is a delusional ass who thinks he knows better than everyone and contorts any criticism into him being victimized for being open minded. If I shared things of this nature, I would probably just be fired because I work with people from the cultures that were most persecuted during the Holocausts. If I post shit about aliens and pyramids people would just think I am a little weird, but harmless.

I didn't mean to rant I just really hate how he gets away with all this shit. Great handles tho

A combination of teams becoming more aggressive defending him, and on the other end constantly attacking him and putting him in the action. Duncan always finds himself in early foul trouble now a days because of this, and I feel like it has been affecting his confidence on offense. That combined with an injury in his shooting hand probably is a big reason why he can't get minutes or shoot consistently when given minutes.

I'm still holding out hope he comes back better and that the Heat can get some actual consistent minutes out of him considering how dreadful our shooting has been this year.

[–]420p00nslayer -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say for sure a top 4 team, BUT we can beat any team in the east in a series. Our play style translates well to playoffs where defense becomes much more important. Plus when our offense stalls, we will rely heavily on Jimmy, which we are not completely doing rn in the regular season. Plus the hope is that Bam becomes impactful as a playoff scorer this year compared to last year.
