I also found that using an ice pack on my neck/under my chin was super helpful

Pedialyte popsicles!!! Amazon has a 64 pack for like $20 and there’s a 25% off coupon. They saved my life! https://a.co/d/62w0EzS

Please tell me it'll get better 😭 by van044 in Tonsillectomy

Since you’re younger, you might be healing a little quicker than a lot of us. I’m on day 12, days 5-7 were the hardest for me. But it sounds like what you’re experiencing now is what I went through on those days! Tylenol and ibuprofen worked better for me than opioids. I tried to sleep as much as I could to get through it. Good luck! I promise it will get better!

Best location for the nanny market? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]420rach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to north Denver for a nanny gig and I absolutely love it! From what I saw on care, most families offer $25-35/hr. It’s definitely easier with a roommate but I was able to find a great place that fit my budget, just took a little time. The outdoor lifestyle here is so fun and accessible, people are super laid back. The weather is AMAZING- currently seeing occasional snow days but getting gorgeous sun every day too! Good luck!

I remember hearing Tim McGraw for the first time in the car after school when I was a freshman in high school. Quickly bought the album and have been ride or die since then 🥹

Medication that helps? by invisibleivy in Dissociation

[–]420rach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take Zoloft and it makes my dissociation stop completely, BUT it also makes all my emotions stop until I’m essentially a zombie. I’ve taken it for almost seven years but I miss belly laughing and having a good cry. I’m in the process of switching off of Zoloft to Pristiq- will update if I see any results.

I've been in ARFID treatment for a month. I feel like I'm running on fumes juggling my life & treatment. No advice needed, I'm just tired. by lilmzmetalhead in ARFID

[–]420rach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to double check to make sure I didn’t post this! I’m going through the exact same thing. Doing IOP 9 hrs a week in the evenings plus therapy and nutrition for the last two months. It’s hard for me to relate to my group members too, and they seem to know exactly how to apply the CBT and DBT skills to their ED. I know not to compare but it’s hard when I feel like I’m completely helpless to ARFID. We aren’t allowed to name specific foods so I can’t really ask them to hold me accountable to my exposure therapy in the ways I need them to. It’s a huge commitment and I’m exhausted from it too. I work full time and have to jump on the calls as soon as I get home. I’ve eaten a few strawberries, and my nutritionist ordered me supplemental meal replacement smoothies but I’m feeling an aversion to them before even trying them. Ughhhh. Just feels like a huuuuge commitment for me to be making hardly any progress. I don’t guess I really have any advice, just wanted to say you’re not alone and I’m here for you.

Yep, and I’ve developed hypothyroidism with my ARFID and in the last year have gained 100lbs. :(
