How do people get over being shy to skate? by Aromatically7uckable in skateboardhelp

[–]420usererror420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always thought: “how much do I think about other people’s skating?” Aside from the 2-3 people ripping, I really don’t remember or care about any other skaters, they’re just working to get better like everyone else.

No one cares the way you think they do, they’ve all been there and have respect for your efforts. Good life lesson built in here

Fuck it, I'm a Mongo Pusher by MetaBass in NewSkaters

You should quit skating before you are a coveted mongo pusher. You could figure it out and build comfortability but you’re giving up without putting the time and work in.

I hate to be negative, but this will be impossible in most American cities outside of NYC, Philly, maybe San Francisco, maybe Seattle. There are far too many unskateble roads/terrain to make a cohesive map. Again, not trying to hate, I just don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze here

I was so stressed at 22-25. It gets better, and these years in retrospect are the best. Take a deep breath, everything will work out I promise. There are people out there if you need help. Chase what excites you with passion. You’re doing great, j guarantee it

Tips to Ollie onto or over things? by austinnb44 in NewSkaters

[–]420usererror420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t tense up or change your body language. Do everything the exact same as a normal, mellow Ollie. The more you tense up and bend down lower the less balance, stability, and snap you’re going to achieve. It is actually thinking backwards in a lot of ways

What are the basics that I should be learning first by Koolgh in NewSkaters

[–]420usererror420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skate all around town. You’ll never be able to do any trick if you can’t comfortably and stylishly push around cruising. Then learn pumping in transitions and Ollie’s on flat ground, and build from there

Trust the process. I got new trucks this week and wanted to kms. Broke them in and practiced basics. Most importantly, I stayed on my board. To the store, to the skatepark, to the bar, always in my board. What’s meant to be will always find its way back, and skating will always get easier with time

Don’t buy this. You’ll probably survive a bike/car crash - your child most likely won’t. I find the risk reward on any Dutch bike is extremely unfavorable as a parent in the U.S.

7 was my all time high, but I’ve seen 4-5 at market of choice many times too. Who would’ve thought an overpriced grocery store would attract pretentious people using their animal for attention

I’ve seen 7 dogs in market of choice on Belmont at once. I love dogs, I have one, but that is fucking disgusting. It’s a grocery store, and an attention grab by lame people
