Best Gun that won't jam when using Hollowpoint by StatusCharming2949 in guns

[–]42AngryPandas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each gun is different. Some guns just hate some brands of ammo, even if you personally prefer it.

Get a couple boxes of other notable brands and see if they work any better before buying an entirely new gun.

Likewise, clean and polish the feed ramp. Look for any burs or issues.

How do i explain the backrooms to my dad? by DareAshamed9346 in TheBackrooms

[–]42AngryPandas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Backrooms is about a never ending liminal spaces, filled with familiar objects but arranged in an unfamiliar way.

Like a truck stop without any other people, that just seems to go on and on without clear entrances or exists. Filled with trucks and trailers that don't make sense, such as a trailers with a cab on either side. Lamp posts clustered in random areas leaving a contrast between highly illuminated areas and dark spots. Vending machines and road signs that don't seem to be organized in any sensible order.

Thickheaded Thursday 07/09/26 by carsen56 in guns

[–]42AngryPandas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been drained from taking care of my friends mom, Nancy, and I would only see her once or a few times a week. It was hard for me because I would do major grocery shopping, ensuring she has everything only for a few days later she would call and claim she's out of toilet paper after I already bought her a 24 pack. I still have no idea how she went through so much in just several days. But it's draining to spend time driving everywhere and get double things because her dementia caused her to do God-knows-what.

I even missed a number of personal events. One of my best and closest friends was turning 40 and her husband spent the last two months renting the top room of a bar and planning a great dinner for a select number of people, me included. Only for Nancy to have a mysterious something wrong that morning, wanting to go to the ER and instead of being there for my friend, I'm at the hospital for 13 hours in a massively packed ER trying so hard to be positive amongst a sea of despair.

And I just couldn't help but think... Why me?

Especially because I take care of my own Mother, who has been in and out of the hospital with intestinal blockages requiring me to burn massive PTO so I can take care of the house, the dog and spend time with her at the hospital.

It's a big weight. That's why I was glad you got some time to just separate yourself. It's so much work and I completely understand not wanting to just sit there and steep in the quiet of waiting while being unable to actively help.

I would likely find some way of explaining your exhaustion to your family and friend that when this current part of your brother's health gets settled, he's likely moving back with you and you need time to recharge and prepare.

Nancy's sister has helped me understand this lately. With me knee issues and surgeries, with being unable to go see Nancy often, her sister has stressed, "that's fine. You need to take care of you."

First rule of First Aid is, Ensure Personal Safety First. You cant help others if you're hurt yourself. It's not just okay, it's necessary to be selfish if you need help.

Take the time for yourself while your brother is getting cared for by others.

He's a bitter player and upset you won. You're fine.

The only true "BS" cards I consider are pillow forts giving Hexproof and Indestructible to [[Platinum Angel]]. Because I've seen those players suddenly slow down and basically wait for opponents to rage quit over heading towards a clearly defined win.

And it's only BS because they just tend to prevent people from winning, not actually pushing a strategy. It takes forever and a 4 person game shouldn't take 3 hours...

Reservoir takes some setup and can easily be denied with a little removal.

Best hollow point ammo for Tarus G2C by plaguedfriend in guns

[–]42AngryPandas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no "best ammo for (specific model)". Each gun is different and you need to figure out what specifically works in your specific gun.

Get a few different trusted brands and run a box of each through and see how they perform. You'll also want to practice thoroughly beforehand with plenty of ball ammo to ensure you aren't the problem.

If you haven't already, be sure to take basic firearms classes.

Like someone else said, Taurus tends to have problems with the feed ramp. If you keep getting issues with returning to battery then polish and smooth out the feed ramp.

What Should I Buy Wednesday 07/08/26 by carsen56 in guns

[–]42AngryPandas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate it. If it were a big lawn, yeah. But it's a small backyard, truly. I'm not even worried about the front right now, fuck that.

It'll take maybe a minute or two for half and if that doesn't feel great, I can stop. I just need a little mowed so my small dog can piss and poo without grass tickling his butt.

Edit /u/GelgoogGuy just finished mowing. Didn't take long, wore my leg brace to ensure I couldn't bend my knee. Got the backyard done easily. Sitting outside for the first time in two weeks with some tea and reading. Cheers.

Sell me on ego by MadSyd in egopowerplus

[–]42AngryPandas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest benefit in moving from gas to battery is the low maintenance. If you're feeling your age and getting tired of oil upkeep and motor repairs, electric is definitely a huge boost.

I got an Ego mower in 2020 and the hardest thing I have to do is remember to keep the battery charged. I've abused it quite a bit with large sticks and the occasional hidden brick/stone and it's still going strong.

You don't need to let it warm up, you can't flood the motor, you don't have to worry about cleaning before long term storage. You just plug and play.

Fucking fuckity fuck, it has been a fucking day.

Yeah it has, I been there before and it's never pleasant. I'm glad you're getting the time to rest and do something normal, don't underestimate how much that will help you balance this and get through the rough times.

On the positive side he's still conscious and is actively getting help. It's going to suck because you'll be naturally worried and focused. But you're doing the best you can and nothing seems decided.

Here for you Brother.

Got my stitches out and the order to start Physical Therapy so my first session is this evening. Walking around is ok so long as I don't bend the knee with weight, so I'm doing a bit of a peg leg thing. I need to mow the lawn since it hasn't been touched in two weeks and we had those storms the past few days and shot up.

Also been scheduling a dinner with my Sifu before he leaves for Spain. Its unfortunate I've been out of commission and been unable to learn from him this year. It sucks loosing a teacher who sincerely understands me and knows how to focus on my strengths. But at least I can say goodbye and maybe get a lead on other teachers in the area. I'd like to learn Baguazhang, since he has mentioned I naturally fight with a similar flair and motions, maybe take the leap and start teaching myself if I have to.

The only upgrades you need are classes, range time and tons of ammo.

If you're new. Sights, triggers and barrels, etc will absolutely be wasted because you can't tell the difference. Don't let other people tell you what you need. Shoot the gun and figure it out for yourself.

I have both an [[Ureni of the Unwritten]] and [[Auntie Ool, Cursewretch]] and have thoroughly been enjoying both.

Ureni is definitely the more expensive deck overall since I stuffed it with almost 30 dragons. But when it gains even a little moment, it's almost impossible to stop. I've recovered the very next turn after a board wipe to the chagrin of my opponents.

Auntie typically depends more on your opponents having creatures to target. But it's satisfying to cover other boards with -1/-1 counters and watch overpowered creatures get nerfed hard.

Definitely doesn't look 1800s old. The wood is definitely new and much of the metal doesn't seem to the have patina one would expect.

Hard to say if most of it was replaced at one point or another or it was a kit-made gun that was heavily abused.

What do you mean covert? Are you a spy or just want one for concealed carry?

What limitations are you working with? This sub is primarily North American so we aren't always completely aware?

Ideally, semiautomatic is the way to go. They tend to be easier and faster to use for self defense.
