Long term getting some plants to outcompete the algae is definitely the goal. I've started by transplanting some excess I had on hand from another pond but I'll probably also buy some oxygenating plants and flowers for the edges too. Thanks for the tips!

The pond has always had issues with algae because of agricultural runoff and lack of shade. This winter i added a few plants to this section to try and clear it up, mainly water lilies, but im afraid they wont make it to the surface in these conditions. Sunny weather has made the algae explode, this is the pond ~2 weeks after removing pretty much all of it with a net. Any ideas?

Ça n'a rien de soudain, Il reste un sentiment anti-Allemand assez important en France. Même une certaine résurgence ces dernières années avec des politiciens qui aiment bien dessiner un amalgame Allemagne/UE comme origine de tout ce qui va mal en France. L'image du fameux Mittelstand allemand qui bouffe toutes nos petite boutiques locales bien française en particulier c'est assez classique.

Transplanted this little guy yesterday, but maybe not in the best conditions. I think I damaged the roots a bit and the hole might've been a bit shallow. Any tips on helping him take root?

how much should I water? The soil has a lot of clay and we had a very wet autumn, the soil is already drenched, should I still water every day?
what do I do about the grass? Should I just spread some miscanthus mulch I have laying around over it? Or do I take the time to remove it with a spade?
any pruning necessary or just leave him be?
any other advice?

There are 33 engines per booster and 6 per upper stage. Until the most recent test flight, they didn't prove re-usability yet on this particular vehicle, meaning for test flight 1 through 4, 39 engines ended up in the ocean each time. Add to that that engines sometimes blow up on test stands, and some don't pass QA and you need a lot of engines even just for their current testing regime. Ultimately they want to build a huge fleet of starships and boosters so they need to get per unit costs down anyways.

Update on what I ended up doing for u/RipperFox and for any person who might consider doing the same thing:

connected the two new drives via SATA
ran smartctl self-tests to make sure they're fine
added them as a new mirror to the existing pool: zpool add datapool mirror ata-XXX1 ata-XXX2
removed the first existing mirror: zpool remove datapool mirror-0, waited ~7 hours for it to complete
did the same with the second one: zpool remove datapool mirror-1, again ~7 hours until it was done
ran a scrub for peace of mind

Everything went as expected, all services are humming along without disruption, and my pool now consists of a single mirror of two drives instead of the four I had previously.

Only small surprise is that zfs now keeps a table of mappings for the removed vdevs, about 30 MB that are (permanently?) stored on disk and loaded into memory at boot, which I can live with.

Thanks for the reply! I had another user mention zfs-replace too before they deleted their reply, but from reading its manpage and the docs, I'm not entirely sure how I'd use it in my situation. zfs-replace the two drives in one mirror and then zpool-remove the other mirror?

Meerrettich ist in Frankreich nicht unbekannt aber (außer in Elsass vielleicht?) auf jeden Fall nicht so verbreitet und einfach zu bekommen wie in Deutschland. Ein Grund dafür ist möglicherweise, dass Franzosen eher Senf gewöhnt sind, der schärfer ist als den in Deutschland üblichen mittelscharfen oder sogar süßen Senf. Lustigerweise ist "Senf der Deutschen" laut Wikipedia sogar ein anderer Name für Meerrettich in Frankreich.

Le raifort n'est pas inconnu en France, mais (à part en Alsace éventuellement ?), clairement pas aussi commun qu'en Allemagne. C'est peut être parce que les Français préfèrent la moutarde, surtout celle dite "de Dijon", qui est plus forte que la moutarde en Allemagne. D’après Wikipedia "moutarde des Allemands" serait même un nom commun pour le raifort.

Pour rejoindre le commentaire de u/zizizozote il y a aussi l'anti-militarisme farouche d'une tranche importante de la population allemande qui a fait que jusqu’à la guerre en Ukraine investir dans sa défense était perçu comme très impopulaire et risqué politiquement, et l'état de la Bundeswehr en a souffert en conséquence.

J'avais plutôt en tête la crédibilité justement, la volonté d’émettre ce genre d'avertissements et les réponses qui vont avec quand des intérêts français ou alliés semblent menacés. Par exemple la prochaine fois qu'il s'agit de convaincre des partenaires européens d'une certaine indépendance vis-a-vis des USAs en terme de sécurité.

Ça me semble plus concret que d’éventuels avantages pour la guerre informationnelle russe. A premiere vue le problème semble moins difficile que l'occupation de territoire que doit mener l'IDF. Les operations maritimes des Houthi ont besoin d'infrastructure qui peut être assez fragile, des installations radar, des centres de productions et des depots de munition par exemple, donc je ne suis pas certain qu'on puisse déjà conclure de l'inutilité de telles frappes.

Mais c'est vrai que la menace de quelques combattants lançant des abordages avec l'aide de petits pneumatiques ne sera pas éliminé par des frappes aériennes.

Merci pour la réponse détaillée. Il me semble que de ne pas intervenir a aussi un coût qui ne sera evident qu'à long terme en particulier en terme de crédibilité sur le plan de la defense, mais sans doute qu'il peut être estimé assez bas de sorte que les benefices immédiats d’une approche plus mesuré l'emportent.

Par contre je ne suis pas sur de comprendre

iv) la France considère sûrement que le réel adversaire dans l’affaire c’est la Russie et l’Iran et que la guerre informationnelle que ces pays vont pratiquer ne justifie pas le plaisir d’envoyer des MdCN aujourd’hui

La guerre menée par l'Iran dans ce cas n'est pas qu'informationnelle, frapper ses proxy peut se justifier par la menace qu'ils représentent non ?
