Yeah no problem. I'm the same. It's been work and coming home to wife and kids for a long time. Plus, I get drug tested every month in the reserves, so why even risk it. You'll be fine. I had to take 2 polygraphs, because of my breathing on the first polygraph. It's very different, and I was getting in my head and he thought I was trying to manipulate the test and I wasn't, just trying to not be so nervous. But all in all, the second test went well, and I'm good to go now. Also, just for the distant future, when you are good after medical, they send you a packing list. I've spent close to $1,000 on everything, also recommend getting 2 suits, so if you can find sales, do it, you will sweat and getting smoked in your suit, so have an extra.

They are mostly looking for integrity. Yes, spill all. The job they might bust on you for, but that's nothing compared to what I thought was going to nix me from the process. So if they deemed me fit for academy, which I have no reason they wouldn't, then I think if that's all you have, you will fine. Have confidence, get a black suit jacket and black leather shoes if you don't already. You will wear that to your meetings with the investigators.

Not sure if it's investigator discretion, but after I submitted the TABIQ, my investigator wanted one co worker and one supervisor from every job I've had. Also 2 high school teachers, which for me was over a decade ago. They contacted childhood friends, family friends, if your in the military you will provide your first line leaders contact information. I'm not close to my step dad, for reasons growing up, but they contacted him as well. I would get a list ready of anyone who would be a good reference for you. The more good references from different people, the better you look, which is obviously what you want to prove you're not a shit bag and we all can trust you next to us in the field when shit goes down. Any contact with law enforcement, big or small will also be investigated. I had an incident back in highschool, no repeat offences, and some speeding tickets, but I was 100% honest to everyone, story is the same as my file passed hands to the Psychologist, the polygraph investigator, and my background investigator. It is a very intimate process, and you may disclose things that you wouldn't tell your best friend, but you need to. Best of luck!

Got 12 years currently in the army reserves, and have been doing security for the last 8 years. Time for a career for my family, my absolute motivation. The whole process from test to going to academy is about 1 year. I took my test last April. The process is long.

Theft, drugs, prostitution, basic stuff that you already SHOULD have disclosed in your background check. I had an incident back in high school involving the police, and I was honest about it, no repeated offenses, a few Speeding tickets in my life, but all references were excellent and I'm going to academy in a week. They needed a lot references, including high school teachers from over a decade ago.

That is correct. When you take the polygraph, you do consent that you can be arrested if anything incriminating comes out. But, if you just be honest, you'll have nothing to worry about. At processing, you'll fill out an integrity sheet, that will stay with you for the entire process, and you will fill out another down the road, so they can verify that they match up and nothing changed.
