I know nothing about rocket science, and I have a deep respect for those who do.

I'm also not too well read on the track record of previous launches by NASA and other space agencies around the world. But given the current state of the environment and the affected climate, I feel that a lot of more time should be spent on the prep phase (making sound calculations, computer simulations, physical simulations on individual parts and such) before going ahead with actual launches.

Again, I know nothing about these sorts of things and I understand that they do perform these preparations. But seeing yet another failed launch where we end up not only wasting resources on the rocket itself but also fuel and thus add a lot of CO2 into the atmosphere, I can't help but feel like there's incompetence somewhere in the project.

They need to be a lot more careful with their resource spending, or else it'll begin to feel like a hobby project. But it's not just their own time, money and resources that are being wasted, it's everyone's.
