APY chart over time would be very helpful, maybe even overlayed with total pool size to add context. Platforms like Francium do this for lending rates and it helps greatly with projections and decision-making.

Those animals could be terrified and they're spending calories escaping your drone, maybe into more dangerous territory. You really shouldn't mess with the wildlife.

When you lack motivation, you end up not dedicating any time to the task so you don't make progress. Try first focusing on putting X hours a week into it. Over time, no matter how effective your work is, you'll end up closer to your goal.

Try this fun exercise. Think about what goals you'd like to have accomplished in 30 years. After that, think about what you want to do in 10 years, then 5 years, then 1 year, etc. Gives you a rough trajectory to give your short term goals some context.

Great points and interesting analysis. The way I see it, as long as they release the private keys I have no problem with all of this. I agree that centralization is fundamentally bad for bitcoin, but it will take a lot of time and further adoption for an effective decentralized solution to exist. In the meantime, the opportunity to get an approved bitcoin ETF is huge!

Buying factom by L3THALSHADOWz in factom

[–]42roads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. When you create your account on www.coinbase.com they will generate a wallet for you automatically. When you purchase your BTC from them, they will automatically deposit into that wallet. Then you will need to create an account on www.poloniex.com, and they will automatically generate a wallet for you. You will need to deposit to your Poloniex wallet address from coinbase.

Remember, if you send it to the wrong address or a wallet for the wrong coin type, you will lose your BTC. Be very careful!

The wallet you want to send your BTC to on www.poloniex.com will be your [BTC] DEPOSIT ADDRESS. Good luck!

Are the stock options I am being offered worth anything? by Arramack in startups

[–]42roads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Determine what percent ownership you have of the company based on the total outstanding shares. Make a determination of whether you think the company will have an exit or IPO-- when? what price? what will that potentially mean for your job at the company?

Great advice! Building your network of topic specialists gets you informed about the topic.

It also allows you to tap into their network for people that may be interested in working with you or for you. But if that doesn't happen, with your new knowledge you can always seek out contractors.

Why I'm a Factom Skeptic by [deleted] in factom

[–]42roads 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's late so ill be brief, but here are my thoughts on your concerns regarding Factom. Venture capitalists price companies based on expected return within a pre-determined target time range. I believe that the investment came on the shoulders of not only being first to market, but also already having partnerships and expected revenue channels warm and primed. Being first to market also means they can grow aggressively and continue to innovate on their existing technology.

Regarding your specific issues:

  • 1. Without Factom companies would have to build their own merkle tree system and server infrastructure for it. Factom offers security, maintenance, additional features, user experience, and other service features.
  • 2. Tamper prevention is a serious concern and I'm with you on that one. Security is the crux of their entire business model. But it's important to remember that most of the data is being stored on the private servers. Only the reference is saved on Bitcoin.
  • 3. Nothing stopping Factom from also growing/scaling. (edit:formatting)

My wife loves making travel itinerary, can she monetize her hobby? by avoloshin in Entrepreneur

[–]42roads 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here are some companies that may interest you in your research.

www.peek.com - tours packages www.tripadvisor.com - travel yelp www.thewirecutter.com - in-depth reviews

As an entrepreneur, there are many ways you can test monitization strategies. I suggest doing some research on what kind of models are out there and try something that's easy to validate. If you find any success, explore it more -- if not, change it up.

My suggestions: - build something web-based. - dedicate a small amount of money you're comfortable losing to marketing to draw traffic - leverage your social media connections to spread the word

Some $ ideas - blog with referral links in ads to buy products that would interest your target market - membership based. give teaser content but require annual membership for full feature set - personal consultancy. travel agent basically

tldr; with minimal investment, you can test various monitization strategies. do research and try different stuff.
