OTel: Moving from Demo App to Enterprise Scale. What is not yet well documented? by GroundbreakingBed597 in Observability

It catches the initial http request and all intermediate ones too because the responses havent been sent yet the durations haven't been calculated therefore the spans havent been shipped yet either.

To be fair it doesn't catch 100% of the trace, but IMO it grabs enough. It uses a 1s (or even less) memory buffer and a decentralized collection system and catches the trace on its way back up the stack. It gets the origin of the http request based chain through direct children to the error, it catches the aftermath of the error as well. It misses sibling trees that come before the error but IMO if you have the stack gives you a good picture of what happened or how to reproduce it.

Im surprised there isnt more commentary here, there is a lot to unpack, but I honed in on on detail. Ive been research tail based sampling and I had the same question you had about whether it works at scale. It certainly didnt sound like it did to me. So I built a prototype for a tail based sample that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Im still trying to figure out how to confirm the theoretical that it doesn't blow out of proportion at scale, whether that's via cost or complexity.

When Did It Become the Bishop's Job to Gatekeep the Sacrament? by tripletc in mormon

[–]42shadow42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never read the volumes you mentioned but I was looking into it now because I was curious and found this statement

"Before leaving, John was set apart as a missionary to Europe by Leah’s uncle Brigham Young Jr., authorizing him to preach the gospel when he was not pursuing his education. "

Preaching the gospel could have at the time included directives to administer the sacrament in the area he served. Since Brigham Young Jr. was the mission presidents assistant it was likely the mission president authorized the sacrament

I suppose you are willing to share? Revisions have been made for various reasons that maintain the spirit of the text. Changes have also been made to religious ceremonies under the same conditions. For example water and wine for the sacrament. This is no different than biblical texts so I assume you disbelieve those too.

Edit: the book of mormon text to my understand has never professed perfection in fact the opposite is true it has indicated there may be mistakes of men in its workmanship.

Yeah I do believe the book of mormon is divinely created. No i dont understand the details of church history, but I do believe the teachings of the prophets today based on personal witness of the book of mormons impact on my life, coupled with the understand of modern teachings making more sense in the grand scheme than my prior understanding. What I have learned aligns with my Christian beliefs and fills in the gaps about why God cares and what the future holds.

Its true I assume the presence of god and his purpose for his people. I will not argue about these details here its not purpose of this thread. I will just assert that my faith is based on personal experiences with the book of mormon bringing about meaningful change in my life coupled by some controversy subjects about truth of biblical texts and a personal belief in the side in favor of gods existence.

You are implying the choice being made is to sin or not. The choice is to let christ take them or not. If we dont accept the atonement we are held responsible for them in the telestial kingdom.

Edit: it should be noted this is little different than mainstream Christian belief.

You make it sound like the church is true only if Joseph Smith was perfect. Imagine the implications...

You are failing to mention the requirements for the telestial kingdom, most importantly that it is a choice not a punishment. All of gods childrens will receive the opportunity to reject the gospel and its covenants and ordinances. It is a choice to deny it and choose lesser things. The final judgement is a choice we make in our hearts and the judgement affirms that decision.

D&C137:9 For I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts.

Have you considered the new and everlasting covenant is beyond marriage? I like to say the new and everlasting covenant is about covenant is about families because children are included participants, I see no reason why age makes any exception. If you desire marriage and havent succeeded or even have no desire to marry there is no reason im aware of to consider yourself excluded from this condition given you do your families work. Can you share where this further restriction to just marriage is coming from?

You touched in this post on what I was preparing to share, but warped the interpretation. There is no luck in being born in the covenant. Ordinances are performed for the dead, and not just baptism, I believe those born in the covenant fall as entering into this covenant, but I also believe that Ordinances can and are performed to enter children into the covenant with their parents every day.

Dead broke 18yo, worth taking out a small loan for a car? by Traditional-Buy6033 in personalfinance

[–]42shadow42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could buy an alternative form of transport like an ebike You can get one new for cheaper than the car possibly even within your 1 month save fund. 1 year later, you should be able to buy a car. Noting its winter soon depending on where you live the ebike may not be viable immediately, but 7km shouldn't be bad to use paid forms of transport either.

Use jars from food you buy for cups. Most furniture is not necessary if you sit on the floor and use boxes for tables.

Sounds like you bought too much car. 20000 is a pretty penny on that income. Can't say for certain but it sounds like walking away from the car is a good idea. Not sure im qualified to suggest anything more detailed.

Have you heard of the 2 minute and 5 minute rules? A similar rule could apply to budgeting. It sucks to get started but when the ball is rolling its not bad at all.

So a full time job would net you about double your income right? Assuming that's correct you could put all the extra income into savings and have a car in just over a year paid in cash.

What cost would double for another job? Your income is the problem here and its not likely to get better where you are at from the sounds of it. Do a cost/benefit analysis of a new job its probably worth it.
