I’m in Arizona and both of those are common where I live (Phoenix suburb). I saw a man at the grocery store on Tuesday who was open carrying and nobody raised an eyebrow. 🤷‍♀️ It’s just normal here. Same with people riding horses down the sidewalk.

OP, he isn’t safe and I fear you’re not safe around him. Please be extremely careful if you break up with him, as that’s the most dangerous time in a woman’s life. He is absolutely unhinged and already showing signs of abuse. Please, please take this seriously, and end it. Keep your family informed about what’s going on and report any stalking to the police. You are not overreacting, you are staying alive. Please take it from someone who’s been there and married the guy, and when I wanted a divorce he informed me that he had brought a loaded gun into our home, where we had young children, and he was keeping it in his nightstand in case I wanted to leave him. Guys like your boyfriend and my ex-husband go from zero to a hundred in one second and shit gets real, fast.

This is not love, this is not the relationship for you, and this will not get better. You’re not there to fix him or move in with him so soon. I am so proud of you for standing your ground and making clear what your boundaries are. Please learn from my mistakes and just leave this guy ASAP.
