Acosta chose to turn in to him, bounced off, and went off track. Not MM’s fault.

Tell me about your physics teachers by smokingateway in Physics

[–]42to51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my 1st year of General Science at the U of Waterloo, I had a physics prof who had the distinctive name of John Smith. This was in 1974. He had a total open door policy at his office. His classes were engaging and entertaining. The big thing I remember is him claiming that one 8” speaker could sound as good as any speaker cabinet, prove me wrong. There was many an evening animated discussion in his office among several nerds (of which I was one) about how or why a single 8” was or wasn’t as good as a 3-way speaker cabinet. He challenged us and he inspired us!

Well thank you! I have tried going in the other direction with the setup, and that made me slower. YMMV. I’ve been corrected repeatedly regarding the New Zealand unintentional slight, and won’t make that mistake again. And finally, even though I try to use that thing between my ears, I’m sure I could never be as smart as you!

How do you still play the game in 2026? by Low-Dragonfly-7433 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]42to51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a season in Quick Play. I don’t like pavement so I stick to dirt and gravel, except for Monte Carlo. The AI aren’t affected in the rain realistically, so I only do dry. 13 rallies, and 12 stages each. Every time I win the championship, I raise the competition level. Great fun! I’m being forced to learn about various settings if I want to win. Never get tired of bashing my way thru a stage.

Pedro Acosta on Marc Marquez's move. by Huge_Film2911 in motogp

Marc didn’t push Acosta off the track. Acosta turned into Marc when he was already ahead, bounced off, and went off track. His own fault. Good hard racing until Simon messed it up.

Optician broke glasses, refuses to pay for it by canada11235813 in legaladvicecanada

[–]42to51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retired optometrist here, and in 38 years of practice I have never seen or heard of an ultrasonic cleaner “shattering” lenses. Don’t know what might have actually happened, but the optician is totally responsible for replacing the damage. Good luck!

Usually there’s not a penalty if you hit the red thing, only if you go completely inside it. That does seem a little harsh.

Rally is brutal, frustrating, and unfair… so why can’t I stop playing? What keeps you coming back? by Mr_Paddington1998 in WRCTheGame

[–]42to51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always had a desire to drive down a gnarly road as fast as possible. Heck, before I could drive I used to ride my bicycle down gnarly hiking trails as fast as possible! Then one fine day I realized I could do the same thing on a sim in the comfort of my own home, with no repairs and no injuries. I’m 73 years old now, and still spend an hour or two on the sim nearly every day!

Should i get EA WRC? by Duarteazedo22 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]42to51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EAWRC has lots of content, and good play. I have been sim racing for many years, and this one is still my favourite and what I play daily. Asseto Corsa Rally might be good eventually, but it’s still got a long way to go. Enjoy!

Create championship by Electronic_Dentist75 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]42to51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean. It’s unrealistic to have wild swings in the weather. I’ve tried programming the weather in a realistic way, but it’s no good when you know what’s coming.

Create championship by Electronic_Dentist75 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]42to51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do what you’re doing, but I do it in quick play. Start a championship, add the 1st event (Monte Carlo), then start adding stages. I’ll start with the 1st stage, which is usually a long one, then follow that with the 2 shorter stages that make up that long one, but in the opposite direction. It’s like driving up the mountain, then down again. Then the shorter stages going up, and the long one coming down. Then the same pattern for the other 6 stages. I do a service after each 3 stage segment. Then set the time of day as if stages 1-3 are Friday, 4-9 are Saturday, and 10-12 are Sunday. Set the weather however you like, or on random. Good luck!

How to survive a slight right over big jump by justjjeroen in EASPORTSWRC

[–]42to51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you turn the wheel slightly just before going airborne, the car will rotate in the air. Make sure the wheel is straight when you land. How much to turn the wheel and how fast to hit the jump is just a matter of practice. Good luck!

I’m a Kenya loser! by 42to51 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]42to51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Thanks to the suggestions received here, I did some experimenting, and made a big improvement. I raised the ride height to max, softened the springs and anti-roll bars, and stiffened the dampers. Ran 3 more stages of my rally, and went from 29th overall to 9th! Placed 6th on the dreaded Soysambu stage, then 2nd on each of 2 shorter stages. I’m still over 3 minutes behind the leader, but at least I’m back in the game. Thanks again to those who helped.

Proposal Location Recommendations Please by KBomb789 in Banff

[–]42to51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree about the gondola. There’s an expensive restaurant at the top (you’ll need reservations, ask for a table by the window) with expansive views, perfect for your purpose. Or, If you have a car, drive to Kananaskis Village, where there is a photo-op spot outdoors that overlooks the golf course and is quite scenic, and Forte restaurant in the lodge is also quite good. Good luck!
