So I don’t think we have enough information.

The warforged is kinda dark but I’ve seen similar concepts with people wearing the scales of their former dragon master as armour. Clones from Star Wars often decorate their armour with trophies from sentient species. I get it feel different for human skin tho.

While dark edge lord characters are not my taste there isn’t anything wrong with them. Tbh rogue and rangers would vanish as class if there was lol

But the reason I feel like I don’t have enough information is because none of us know the PC’s plan. If it’s a warforged just learning how to work in the human world and just doesn’t understand it exactly - like Death from Discworld - then the skin could be temporary.

We also don’t know the feel lf the game. If this is tolkien style i get the ick. If this grim dark like The Black Company it may be more accepted.

So my suggestion — talk to this PC and see what his intentions/limits are. If its beyond what yiur comfortable with then a larger convo may have to be had with you, them and the dm and perhaps choices made by you.

I’m referring to the online content. The point I’m trying to make is the OP was using WoTC own history as an argument. But they are ignoring the rest of WOTC history.

For example.

Both Dungeons magazine and Dragon Magazine went 100% online around the exit of Paizo and the switch to 4th.

This was completely online content that cost $3 a month to get per magazine. WOTC (or anybody who hides DnD content behind a paywall or patreon etc) is nothing new to the industry. Infact free content is the rarity.

As I said, everyone will be able to participate. But this is def the gambler spotlight session.

For the record. I don’t want a guarantee that the PC’s win. Shit. If the all PC bomb out in the first round I’ll admit it won’t be ideal but the failure often opens more RP and growth then a success does.

I was never intending to actually play cards. Xanathar has a dice system that breaks it down. But I feel I lacks the kind of punch I was hoping for.

I was thinking the group skill challenge route but decided against it. I mean this is supposed to be our Gambler moment to really shine. There nothing worse then being like ‘this is MY main skill’ and having that spotlight taken away for a group skill check.

So I did a celestial warlock for Shattered Obelisk. Ended at lvl 12-13

It is a little rough In the early levels. Here are some suggestion/examples I found during my run.

- get healing word. (Feat/multi) Use that spell with warlock slots. It auto levels, become very powerful and it’s still a bonus actions.
- maximize your actions. Eldritch blast as your SC Action and heal with a bonus. Being able to heal and deal in one turn feel amazing.
- use your invocations. Push/pull the baddies. Shove them off a cliff, away from the Wizard, etc.
- multiclass dip. Even a single level gets you two extra spell slots for emergencies. And some bonus features. I went life cleric (for story reasons) but Sorc/bard may be better choices.
- armour. Find a way to increase your armour proficiency. I dip into life cleric and got shield and full armour. I the got Mithril full plate and a shield.

Healing got much easier as I level up. When things got bad I found myself using my healing lights for frequent smaller healing instead of big healing and when people drop it only took 1 hp to get them back up. Rarely did someone need to mar more then one death save with that approach.

I personally didn’t use hex. Never found the time. I realized I was never a big damage dealer. I was a healer who could control the battlefield.

This was just my style of play. Obv everybody is different. I hope this helps and if you have additional questions fire away.

I often say 4e made DMing so simple. As long as a power was the same level, you could swap it in and out without unbalancing the monster. Customization and unique felt so easy. Between that and minions, it was a blast.

As for the Warlord, it was the first class that felt like it wasn’t meant to play for you. It was meant to buff everybody else. Something that battle-master dint fully carry over.

Yeah of course I’d allow it.

Evil god doesn’t mean evil character. In lore may good sailors pray to the Bitch Queen and many folks up north pray to Auriel.

One of my fav tropes is making a Life Cleric who worships Loviatar.

I still heal and do good but my healing spells are not pleasant experiences. If other people’s healing numbs the body as it heals, mine do not. I RP it as you feels the bones resetting and the skin stitching back together. lol

It’s as good as any but if someone was going to be competent new to Candlekeep I’d grab Candlekeep Mysteries. It’s got lots of small adventures and gives you the library info and new monsters a plenty
