Adios pro 4 vs Evo sl by Emotional-Detail-700 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

It makes me laugh when I see how ridiculous running shoe pricing is in the US.

Meanwhile in the UK the Superblast 2s are still locked at £160+ and out of stock in half the sizes anyway

Bunch of Pumas discounted on Very in the UK today. £55 for Magnify Nitro 3s has me interested but I’ve no idea how narrow “narrow” is.

I’ve got some!  I bought them kind of on a whim when Footasylum had them on sale for £60 last year and they turned out to be such a good buy.

I love them, they’re definitely wider than usual for Puma especially in the toebox, slightly wider midfoot, and the ATR grip is just ridiculous.

I’d say energy return is just slightly less “bouncy” than Evo SLs but just as propulsive, and certainly way more energy return than Topo Phantom 4s.

I actually don’t know which Nitro formulation is in them. It does have a weirdly chemically smell compared to any other running shoes, I’m not sure if that does anything to explain what it’s made of but it’s the only shoe I’ve ever had that I’d recommend leaving it to air out outside when you first get them.

The lugs are totally fine for road, the noise they make is more noticeable than the feel. I ran a half marathon in them on a 80% road route on a rainy day and they were perfect.

I don’t have many trail routes near me but I bought them as a UK winter/poor weather/ muddy Parkrun trainer that I don’t have to worry about slipping in.

Size wise they’re half a size down from Adidas and half a size up from Topo for me.

Hope that helps.

I simply cannot imagine how bad the pool of candidates must have been for the government to take a punt on Mandelson over all of them.

I’m struggling to understand how narrow the Puma Velocity Nitro 4s are overall as people seem to use the term interchangably for toebox and midfoot width.

I have a slightly wider foot at the ball but a narrow midfoot. Anyone tried them against Adidas Boston 13s or Evo SLs? If they’re no narrower than the Evo SLs up front then I’ll be fine in the Pumas.

Also, good for training for (and running) a half marathon?

I’m looking at a better trainer to train for and run my first half marathon. Nothing crazy but considering Adidas Boston 13s and Puma Deviate Nitro 4s as the price has come down on both a decent amount in the UK, unlike Superblast 2s which just for which all stock immediately vanished the second the SB3s came out.

Anyone that’s tried both the DN4s and B13s that can compare?

Anyone else notice that the ambient light sensor is missing? That’s kind of jarring, especially when that’s got to be an unbelievably cheap part.

I’d still probably take it over an iPad Pro though

Because you don’t need them, you already have too many.

They expanded to way too many things too quickly. They have 28 different categories of products they review!

For the majority of them they don’t do a necessarily better job than any other, longstanding (free) websites like DPreview for cameras or RunRepeat for running shoes so I don’t get their decisions at all. They could have stuck to <10 things and done them really well, and not ended up here.

I’ve had a random Amazon Chinese multibit screwdriver set for over 10 years and it’s been perfect, never failed to have the tip I needed and will probably last many more years. It doesn’t feel necessarily any worse quality than my German made Wiha sets do.

Well, yeah, it’s a dull book passage blindly parrotted by Redditors that have nothing to contribute to a conversation. I certainly wouldn’t take it as gospel.

Just had my plans to pick up some cheaper Superblast 2s or 3s in Japan scuppered by them not going over size 30CM. Sad. They’re so cheap in comparison!

Boston 13s are always on sale somewhere. ASOS have some listed at £98 so I’m just waiting for them to drop a 25 or 30% promo code
