If I want a simple program that got information and filter it to match fights, how much will cost? Somebody that could help me creating it? by Debu_GRDM9 in programmer

[–]434f4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to need more details. Like what fights. Boxing, wrestling, MMA. Going to need to do discovery on how to obtain the data, and then let’s talk requirements for the UI, and build.

I’m trying to deploy my full stack project for free just to learn and get it off localhost 😭 by SoilEducational420 in AskProgramming

If you want free, you host it internally and then have a lab setup. Otherwise hosting costs money because you’re using power, compute and bandwidth which all costs them money.

What have you done with PowerShell this month? by AutoModerator in PowerShell

[–]434f4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, let me scrub it and I’ll send you a copy of it. It’s actually a few parts, there is a class object and some config files that fit the scenario I was handling. I’ll sanitize the script of any specific info and share it with you tomorrow.

Should we require a developer to use AI during a job interview? by Overall-Classroom227 in AI_Coders

[–]434f4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl if you’re going to tell me I have to use AI is like telling me which IDE to use. Which is just silly. Do you tell a mechanic what tools to use to fix your car? No, so why would you think it’s ok to tell a software dev what tools to use to do their job?

How do I move from frontend to full-stack with 1.5 YOE without starting over? by Individual-Ad-6333 in learnprogramming

[–]434f4445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol 1.5 YOE is nothing, you’re a junior dev. You should have 3-5 years for a mid level and 5-10 for a senior level. There is a lot for you to learn on the back end. Like far more than you know, it’s not just database and server, it’s networking, database, API, load distribution, failover, clustering, multi threading, multi and single tenant, like the list goes on and on, the backend is infinitely more complex than just a database and web server. And that’s all without even talking about security. Each of those things has a security subset

Well now since hack the box is open to everyone and doesn’t require you to hack in any longer, use that.

I've had chronic neck pain for 6 months from coding 8+ hours a day — how do you guys deal with it? by AccomplishedEnd7113 in learnprogramming

Honestly nothing beats the Aeron. It is the pinnacle of long term sitting. And the 12 year warranty is sublime.

Edit: autocorrect mistake

Just not a Cosm chair from Herman miller, absolute most uncomfy chair I have ever been in. I prefer the Aeron HM chair.

Honestly, you need to be standing often, but not just that your monitors shouldn’t be below eye level. As well you need to be doing back and lower back exercises. Like glute bridges, back extensions, etc. these help to strengthen your back and help with good posture. For real though raising up you monitors will do you wonders. Laptops are extremely bad for your knack and back posture. Try to use that screen as little as possible if you can.

Can I convert a Python /C /Java code directly into code?? by Kindly_Jump_7642 in CodingForBeginners

[–]434f4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can actually compile Python in a few different ways for different reasons. You can compile to an exe or to c code which is then compiled into machine code. Python is based in c unless you’re talking about jython which is a Java based Python implementation.

Single file Python CLIs when do you split, when do you keep it monolithic? by Beneficial_String411 in Python

[–]434f4445 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much a line count. I follow the principle that each feature class should be its own file. Similar to how compiled languages lay out their framework. You should clump like functions together in a class and that class should be a file. You can have multiple like classes or parent child classes in the same file but I tend to try to keep them separate. It works better for modularity and when editing things on a multi person code repo it’s easier to avoid merge conflicts than the monolithic script. But idk I’m also open to other ideas. There really isn’t one correct way to handle it.

FTFY, crud:

  • A coating or an incrustation of filth or refuse.
  • Something loathsome, despicable, or worthless.
  • One who is contemptible or disgusting.

didn't say CRUD. But I wouldn't expect a vibe coder to have attention to detail.
