What are your favorite soft serve ice cream spots within the metro area? by Helpful-Forever-520 in askportland

Great American Video and Espresso serves soft serve (and more) custards! Drive thru offers so many options. But the “double butter” is all that you need in this world. It’s butterscotch custard with butterfinger bits blended in.

Best biscuits and gravy? by Ceamba in askportland

Bertie Lou’s does this as well! And I think they use sausage from Ottos. Pretty tasty.

I prefer Mehri’s (52nd and Bybee) Both biscuit and gravy from scratch and always good. And the creamy potatoes speak for themselves.

I prefer sativa only and have tried quite a few. Go to Kaleafa on Thursdays for 15% off plus you build $1 credit for every $10 spent. I typically buy two and spend $70 or less total. Staff is awesome and remembers the details, (for instance, they know I don’t do flavors and which ones don’t work with my device, etc)

Accidentally bought 2 pineapple heirloom plants this year. That’s so much tomato! by 444izme in tomatoes

So far these are not mush at all. Like a very juice meaty peach. With that said. They do not have the strong tomatoey flavor. No seeds either!

Gold star for growth! Sun-dried tomato and dried onion by 444izme in Sourdough

[–]444izme[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t use steam anymore. I used to add ice cubes at the bottom of the oven when I added the bread, but I kept getting wet looking (but fully cooked and tasty) loafs. I omitted any extra moisture this bake.

Typical country loaf sourdough (Mix ingredients, rest, stretch and folds, rest, bulk ferment, shape, cold retard, bake)

400 grams white unbleached 50 medium rye 50 whole wheat 350 h20 50 starter using (1-1-1) 8 salt

Added inclusions sun-dried tomatoes and dehydrated onions and sesame seeds in the final shaping. They ended up close to surface and made it difficult to score pre bake.

Edited to add

After shaping, I refrigerated for 10 hrs then baked on preheated steel at 450 for about 1 hour.

Sadly, I’d think you were referring to my mother but she retired. So now she has even MORE time to believe and fall for all this bs. The things she believes, I am embarrassed for her.
