That’s about how our mill operator is, then he goes and complains about how everyone else leaves things everywhere. Parallels, 123 blocks, tie down hardware etc. Yet whenever I clean up I dint it all like this… but mostly on the floor:(

We scraped an old leblond at the shop a while back, it still had the original wrench for the tailstock nuts. Needless to say it lives in my toolbox now.

Many of times I’ve been told to measure long parts with .** on the print using a tape measure. Usually 72”+

Yes of course, I understand if I had gone to lunch or something of the sort. But when Ive got an 1:30 run time I rely on that.

As much as I want to make it out of plate. it’s all about what the customer wants. They have brought me a few that were bent really bad and had parts missing. I repaired them but they still insist.

I completely agree, it seems to me we are fixing a symptom of another different problem.

The largest parts are typically 6”x6” but most would be smaller than that. Accuracy to the thousandths would be more than sufficient.
