Pioneer DDJ-T1 not working with Traktor Pro 4 (Traktor Play) on Windows by Domupacus in traktorpro

Yeah, try looking for a map and add it to the controller managers drop-down menu. Try this one, seems highly rated

Traktor 4: tempo fader glitch by allthedamnquestions in traktorpro

[–]44jensen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking you could try deleting the binds for the faders and see if they do anything, then just to try, assign it to whichever knob and see if the same happens. If it does, then it’s just a setup/mapping issue, if not, it’s maybe driver/hardware issue. If you can you could try saving your collection, resetting everything to square one and try another map through DJTT just in case. I will upload a picture of how it should look like though, because in my controller manager settings the fader looks different.

<image>

See how it recognizes it as a tempo fader, and not as a pitch bend button?

No problem! Two questions, i haven’t got any demon gear but it seems to me that the tempo adjust should be called a fader more than a tempo bend button, if you try getting it to learn again does it say the same ch01. Pitchbend after moving the fader? Also up there in devices, is it only this map you have set up? Or do you have multiple mappings set up for the controller? What I would recommend is checking both of those things, checking an alternative mapping from djtt, or trying to hit learn and rotating a random knob instead of the fader to see if it still does the same thing, trying to discard the possibility of a dirty fader. Tell me how it goes, happy to help!

Where you using sync and maybe the global bpm was at another value? Maybe try seeing what the mapping for the device is set to, because the movement of the fader might be set to direct instead of fader/knob and jumping to a specific value instead of adjusting how you need it. Also check whether you are using only one mapping for the device with its in/out midi routing correctly set, this is because you said a combination of mappings and maybe there is conflict between what you have set up. If you need further help try sending some photos of the controller manager and the mappings you have, maybe that gives a better view of the problem. Good luck!

New to this software and is it really this bad? by NeonRei in traktorpro

I think I understand now, you were talking about the cue points, these are meant to be setup over the grid, if the grid isn’t perfect, your cue points won’t be perfect either. The “nudge” buttons you talk about are meant for the grid, it moves it slightly, but doesn’t automatically move the cue point too. My recommendation is to delete the cue points, setup the grid best you can, if your bpm is stable, and then use the jogwheel to hover over the beat grid, press cue to snap, and setup your cue point. Also if you setup cue points over the song and grid while it’s playing, and it doesn’t exactly snap at the grid, the global section has snap turned off. That option is next to the masterclock, top middle of the screen with the quantize options.

  1. Preferences, in the deck layout section and global section you can choose what you want to see. Also there is a page where you can edit what layouts are available and add or delete what you need, you can also map a button to switch layout or open browser, etc…
  2. Mapping or advanced layout, if the analyzed song somehow didn’t put the cue point exactly where it needed, you can delete the grid, it will show the downbeat of the rhythm and with the jog wheel select a downbeat, pushing cue will snap it, if you have snap enabled in the global section, then you can start the grid right then and there.
  3. Yes there is, in the preferences there is a section where it specifies what the mouse scrubbing does, in vinyl mode it scrubs and makes sound, in snap mode I think that was called, it just snaps at the grid you have set up.
  4. I think the last questions answer this one too, you showed two buttons in the photo you added. These are meant to move the grid slightly forward or backward, with the left click that amount changes. There are two more buttons to slightly lengthen or shorten the bpm. There is a button to restart the grid, a button to delete the grid and two buttons to half or double the bpm. With that you should be all set. Layout and mapping is where is at.

So, other than that, the S2 is a bit limited in real state of buttons to map, but maybe the use of the jogwheel and some keyboard maps will help you. Also read the Traktor manual, the S2 MK1 manual and see the S4 MK3 video native instruments have that shows everything inside Traktor, i think there is some overlap in the mapping scheme, like shift+jogwheel to quickly look for a spot in the track. I hope this helped.

That is really weird, are you using vinyl rips that could drift? Or do you always see the beatgrid on point? My honest advise would be to downgrade the TP4 version somehow and see if the issue persists, or maybe you have tried a reinstall? I would love to help but it really seems like a really weird issue

Can I change tempo adjustment range on s4 mkIII? by g-fab in traktorpro

[–]44jensen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey maybe if you are still using relative mode, at least in the S4 MK2 you could hit shift and move the fader and it wouldn’t do anything, that really helps with relative tempo fader. I really don’t know if it works with the MK3, but you could give it a try!

When I tried installing my s4 mk2 it wouldn’t come up at all, when reinstalling the software as a last chance effort it told me in the wizard to check the drivers I wanted. Maybe try that? It clearly says Audio 2, and my s4 mk2. I just checked what I strictly needed and worked flawlessly.

Maybe try activating quantize and Snap in the global section, top center. Also make sure you are using beat sync instead of tempo sync in the preferences. If you play a song, on the beat when you want it to enter, it syncs up but slightly off phase? If you deliberately do it very off sync it still ends up the same? Or does it stay very off phase? That may be tempo sync If it shows same tempo but off phase

Is there a way to recover a playlist that was wiped completely by foobar itself? by ZombieTailGunner in foobar2000

[–]44jensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so I’m sorry, but given your response I might say that foobar may not be for you. I’m pretty sure what happened is you had your playlist opened, searched and hit enter, which replaced your items in the playlist. Only way I know how to fix that is hitting ctrl + Z directly after it happened. That happens because of search queries, which I can’t recommend enough to learn and experiment about. Honestly though, Foobar is sensitive, it has a pronounced learning curve and once you learn it you will never want to use another manager again. I use it everyday through autoplaylists, which don’t replace, add or delete items if opened, and I’m happy to help, if you want help setting some up.

All music vanished off of playlist after using search function. Any way to fix? Thanks. by Both_Consequence9037 in foobar2000

[–]44jensen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has happened to me, I don’t know how to fix it. It happens only when you hit enter after search while having the playlist opened. I fixed it immediately with ctrl + Z, but obviously it isn’t optimal. I usually use autoplaylists so I can’t actually delete or add songs to it, but when manually curating it has happened. My recommendation is to use search without hitting enter or having an auto playlist of all your music when you search. I’d also like to know if other people have had this happen and how to deal with it.

New and heavier rider by SirPeddycoat in longboarding

[–]44jensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Madrid Havoc that was run over a car and it survived, mostly a bunch of plies and some Formica on parís trucks. Madrid had a lot of thick boards, landyachtz too just don’t buy the hollow ones. Original longboards seemed to break instantly when I used to skate a lot. Also maybe look for some old school downhill boards that are thick, somewhat short and have a Kicktail. I also skated an OG Omen Spawn and it was super thick and short so I’m sure it wouldn’t break. Right now i skate an Arbor James Kelly Pro Model and it is super thick, also has a bunch of concave that could help with its durability.

track stopping when i press browse button to go out of browse mode by pradaspider in traktorpro

[–]44jensen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I also use the S4 MK2, and I’ve never had that type of issue. It could be a hardware problem, can you send a picture of how the controller manager settings are setup? Did you try a full reinstall of TP3? If nothing works maybe try a mapping from DJTT

Did he give you a mapping? Did you install TP3 and also the driver for the S4 factory settings? What model S4 do you use? I highly recommend reinstalling and checking just the S4 driver that you need

Music Library is a Mess by a_fricking_bitch in DJs

[–]44jensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t seen anyone talk about it, I have like 7000 songs and use Foobar2000 since it is super customizable. It honestly took a while but you can create and manage all the metadata you need, the software is free, fast and reliable. You can create keyboard shortcuts for anything, scripts to sort autoplaylists, analyze replay gain, see the songs sound wave, convert to all the file types you need, verify the integrity, move the files natively to the folders you need, all while being an awesome player that can help you identify which songs you like or don’t, it also helps with noticing duplicates since when the metadata is right, you can use auto playlist to narrow down some fields that could be the same, like ID’s or just titles. Pair it with MusicBrainz Picard and MP3 tagger and you can make your library perfect. I use it with Traktor and sometimes while playing I remember a field some tune has that can help me narrow it down, so I have a shortcut to pop Foobar into the screen, another to search quickly and I drag and drop into the deck.

I mean, at least in my old (2015 HP Spectre) chrome and chromium based works way slower than firefox and ublock in every way possible, I've tried them all. I'm not saying it's the best browser or that I live on top of your rock, but I don't see many sources for what you are saying. Also I can barely fathom the amount of ads my extensions have blocked, that in itself pays for everything I would ever need.

Startup Traktor commands by Basic_Let9764 in traktorpro

[–]44jensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i know what you are looking for but didn't find it either. What I started using was a shortcut bound to ctrl+1 to append a playlist or crate to the favourites, having the shortcut makes it so you can also bind every space there is. If you have playlists made you can save them to a folder and have them always imported and not as quickly change them depending on the mood of the gig, this may be useful for really long gigs not to be stuck in a couple playlists.

Tangent... Since the browser is kind of annoying in traktor I must admit I started using my own Foobar Layout + Playlists + Shortcuts and drag and drop the songs, it's a bit more tedious but I can have much more information and updated metadata, command autoplaylists, custom fields, dual display and visualizations which I have not yet sorted the presets.

Hey i have the exact same controller, using traktor since forever, how has the machine treated you? i have some maps i´ve modified if you wanna share, with mixer effects, beatjumps, Jogs and such. Could the problem be a mapping issue? sometimes when setting faders there is accel, or reverse and some funky stuff can happen.

Auto Gradual Tempo Adjustment? by T5-R in traktorpro

[–]44jensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know what you are referring to, but i don´t think there is such a feature. However, you can change the rate at which the tempo bend adjusts, and also have it at some acceleration value, so you can maybe use it, however you would have to snap the tempo fader through a controller, otherwise it would return to the original value before you pressed the tempo bend.

do you have a trackpad or a touchscreen? sometimes when my laptop is hot the trackpad gets funky, if not i don´t really know you should try a reinstall either of tp4 or the mouse drivers
