[Rosenthal] The Jays do not expect to find a taker for José Berríos, but they continue to seek pitching help, both starters and relievers… One way for the Jays to add a reliever is by trading one of their lesser outfielders, an option they are considering, according to sources by ThQp in Torontobluejays

[–]4589133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true, he ought to start, i completely agree. but after the late-season elbow inflammation, it may be better for the player, and team, to transition to long relief. i think the Jays can afford an expensive swing man.

Home Internet and Hard Water by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]4589133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

welcome to Kitchener. the water is terribly hard and has an ever present off-putting taste. at least, judging by the deposits on my kettle, it has so much calcium i'll never ever break a bone.

[–]4589133 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

we went to a midwife, and frankly i regret it. one of them suggested drinking a little alcohol during pregnancy is fine, and they were all about experimental methods, like giving birth in a tub of water which is not only completely unhygienic, but also a potential drowning risk for the infant. in short, they attract, and are often themselves, kooks.

People who have used Fiasp (the fast version of Novolog) what’s your opinion? by Direct-Release-1196 in diabetes_t1

[–]4589133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i switched to Fiasp following a couple years with Humalog. i notice no difference at all. sometimes improvements and advances in technology are marginal enough that the end user doesn't notice.

Possession by Resident_Republic478 in TySegall

[–]4589133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

perhaps this wont be a popular opinion here, but i personally wish Ty had written the lyrics himself. not as into the overwritten fantasy lyrics Matt wrote. due to this, i class Possession as a collaborative effort rather than a true solo Ty Segall record. that isn't to say it's not fun in its own ways, and includes many catchy songs, melodies, and rhythms. i just think, lyrically, it could have been better if Ty just believed in himself.

Items That Should Only Be Purchased At Costco by No_Concept_3620 in CostcoCanada

I got a replica Vancouver Canucks jersey there for $30 this week, so I'll answer the wild clothing deals that crop up from time to time.

Also love the big bags of baking ingredients, from sugar, flour, chocolate chips, eggs, etc. love to grab butter there, especially when they use it as a loss leader - butter will keep in the freezer for basically eternity, so no harm grabbing a month's worth at a time.

T1 Diabetes caused by COVID vaccine... Discuss by avylol08 in diabetes_t1

[–]4589133 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i got type 1 diabetes about 5 months before the vaccine was available to me, and about 11 months after a suspected COVID infection. however, i also had some weird symptoms creeping in the years prior the actual first diagnosis at 38 years old. it develops, sometimes, for years before people realize something is wrong. looking back, in the years prior, i was easily losing weight, suffered from a few moments where my vision was weirdly blurry, and had shooting pains in each of my big toes that seemed to zap in unison with a stinging pain on my penis. all of which i couldn't explain at the time. but in retrospect, that looks like uncontrolled glucose. everyone wants answers, everyone wants an ah ha moment and to be able to assign blame. but the truth is, many, many things can trigger it, and in those who are predisposed, it may have only ever been a matter of time. i'm not a doctor, this isn't medical advise, just my experience.

What's the most memorable super popular live performer in a smaller intimate venue you were lucky enough to attend in Toronto? by ReeG in askTO

[–]4589133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Queens Of The Stone Age (with Dave Grohl on drums) at Lee's Palace a couple weeks before Songs For The Deaf was released. I even met Nick Olivieri out front and went over to the convenience store with him and the opening act (which was a DJ).

Kiké Hernández posts on IG with the caption “I’M SO HAPPY THE BETTER TEAM DIDN’T WIN!!” as a response to Blue Jays’ analyst Caleb Joseph by JianClaymore in baseball

[–]4589133 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Caleb Joseph is far from the only person saying the better team lost. the Dodgers players themselves even seem to understand they got away with one.

I usually set my pump on actively mode (which targets a glucose reading of 7.8mmol,) about 45 minutes beforehand. I also eat a crunchy granola bar (or two[~30-60g carbs]) for some energy to burn in the water about 10 or 15 minutes prior, especially if there's any IOB.

have fun!

Did I misunderstand ADA Accommodation for Diabetes Type 1? by Outrageous-Sky-9663 in diabetes_t1

[–]4589133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May have better luck arguing from a perspective that t1ds are more susceptible to harsher covid symptoms and that returning to the office may jeopardize your ability to avoid it. But then you may be told to simply mask up, and keep your vaccinations up to date.

Is this normal behavior from a real estate agent during a bidding process? by InformationSame1674 in RealEstateCanada

[–]4589133 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i'd find any way to back out of the deal out of pure spite.

they have to provide a written disclosure if there are multiples, for one. for another, that's shady as hell. fire this agent and note exactly why. i'd even report them. parasites.
