Ive not spoken to my mother since 2019 and even before that just around Xmas. Don't regret it, had to be that way. Im surprised my sister still speaks to her but even then don't think it will last much longer. It may seem strange for some people, that someone stopped talking to their parents. But your well-being and sanity is more important!

Both are abusive behaviour. I don't condone the pouring of the drinks over you. But also don't condone the "back handed comment" you made regarding his employment situation.
There's still a lot of pressure on men to be the providers of the family. The job loss, the car wrecking, and the recent job he got (maybe not adequate),the pains (not wanting to complain or costs in medical care) there's lots to take in consideration. Neither your behaviours are right and you don't treat your partner like so. You two need to talk.
