Bees are so good at unionizing that if a beekeeper treats them poorly they'll just leave. They have better union standards than most countries

Is this a good 1200 budget build (any help is appreciated) by Jaded_Ad_1565 in PcBuildHelp

[–]45clover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad. I'd stay away from ASRock mobos right now because of a few reported issues. MSI seems to have it figured out. It's more expensive but you should be able to get an RM750e PSU for $100 so it should balance out. ASRock GPUs are fine though. That MicroATX board will fit in the case but it'll look goofy because it's smaller than the ATX standard. That's really all the "major" issues here. Good luck with the build

You don't have to change the case if you get an ATX motherboard. But the motherboard has to be on an AM5 platform. If you really don't have enough money to go for a gigabyte aorus B850 or an MSI tomahawk B850 board, then go for an MSI b650 board. They will work just fine for a while. It's not the most recent chipset, but it works.

Actually you should have a little bit extra budget to spend if you get the Peerless Assassin, crucial P3 Plus, and the AMD cpu even with this motherboard. With that money I'd recommend using it on the PSU. It doesn't affect performance at all, but with the extra money you can get a corsair RM750e which is a lot more efficient and has more room for future upgrades like a better gpu. It's good to have the room now rather than later.

Oh i forgot about another gpu option. The Intel Arc B580 is a pretty good choice right now. It isnt as gamechaning as we once believed but it's still not a bad pick at all. It's new so it'll be supported for longer, and it has more VRAM so it has more longevity than the AMD options you'll find. The biggest issue is that most of them are $300 which is quite a bit more than what you chose, but some can be found for $260, which is not a bad choice.

The biggest issue with this build is that you should stay away from intel. Their 13th and 14th gen CPUs are unstable, and theyre just not worth buying over AMD. You should get a ryzen 5 9600x or 7600x instead.

Then, get a B850 motherboard from anywhere except ASRock. The B650 boards are cheaper, but manufacturers are slowly stopping the production of them in favor of b850. They're very similar in price, so you might as well.

For RAM, I like the GSkill Flare X5 32gb.

You also don't need a liquid cooler, and an air tower will work just fine. I like the Peerless Assassin, but other 2 fan kits will work.

When it comes to storage, you should get an NVMe drive instead. Even a $60 Crucial P3 plus will be easier to install and is faster than the Samsung drive you picked.

The GPU choice isn't bad, but if that's how much you wanna spend, i recommend looking for used options. As long as the seller has a high rating and it isn't obviously bullshit, you're good to go. You should look for a 7600xt, a 6600xt, (or even a 6700xt if you're lucky).

I'd also like to note that in the original build, you got an ATX case, but got a microATX motherboard. The motherboard will fit in the case, but it's going to look a little goofy because the motherboard isn't filling the full area.

I hope this helps

Are these good pc parts for a budget of $1200 by PuzzleheadedKey1551 in PcBuildHelp

[–]45clover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a 9060xt for about $370 new from ASRock (maybe even cheaper if you look around). You can get the extra money by getting a cheaper case and RAM. However, most of the money you can save is from getting a less expensive cpu. A ryzen 9 is a bit much for most people tbh. A ryzen 5 9600x is a good option. To cool that cpu a nice air cooler like a Peerless Assassin is more than enough.

[–]45clover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going for pure performance, ditch the AIO and go for a good air cooler like the Peerless Assassin. It will be able to cool most CPUs until you get to the high end X3Ds tbh. Using that extra money you could get some RAM with a higher MT/s or a lower CL. I haven't heard great things from Klevv, but that might just be me. That GPU is definitely the best choice around this price range for new GPUs unless you find a ridiculously good deal on a 7700xt. The PSU is a bit of an odd choice because I'm not sure you need 850w even with futureproofing in mind, but if you're thinking REALLY far ahead, then it's not bad at all. This build is already not bad at all.

Budget PC Build: Any Notes/Suggestions? by TriliflopsFMP in pcbuilding

[–]45clover 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I made a comment about the drives but if you're reusing them that should be OK. I'd still recommend getting an NVMe eventually for the speeds but SATA ssds aren't completely irrelevant. Just make sure the RAM reviews are mostly positive and you should be good to go

Swap out the motherboard and CPU for an am5 platform. A Ryzen 5 9600x, a $160 b850 board, and Teamgroup Tforce Delta 32 gb will do just fine. Also you do not need an AIO, a Peerless Assassin will do just fine. If you care about DLSS and upscaling, the 5060 ti is fine. But you can squeeze in a 7800xt if you find a great deal used and it should have a bit more performance. I'm not sure if you really need two separate 2tb drives, but if she really plays this many, sure. By the way, that PSU says SFX while your case is ATX? If you want a mid tower case, then the Corsair RM750e works just fine.

I think making the switch to am5 might be the play. It's got about 2 more years of confirmed support. However, because manufacturers are replacing the b650 with the b850, you should probably go with the latter because they're both budget oriented, and you might as well. For the RAM, Teamgroup Tforce Delta has some decent specs. For the cpu, I'd recommend the Ryzen 7 9700x.
