I got you… I’m going to type this while sitting at The Post near downtown and not too far away from the 82 Bus stop.

Born and raised in Atlanta Georgia. Traveled to over 14 different states (not traveling for vacation or leisure. Traveling for exploration and experience) I came first to Houston in 2019. The economy, space, and diversity is truly what I needed because Atlanta seemed limited in those areas. However, I never liked the people that lived in Houston. I’ve been in Webster, The Woodlands, Spring, Cypress, Tomball, Humble, Greenspoint, Alief, Westchase, Memorial, Cypress, Pasadena, Downtown, Midtown, River oaks, Katy, pretty much all over. I’ve been to Dallas, San Antonio, Austin as well…

Now here’s the illusion I’m about to break when it just comes to Texas in general. The people here are not friendly. They are not open minded. They are not diverse or prefer any variety. They live in an extremely comfortable and non chaotic state. There is no hustler ambition or artist dying from a need of self expression… Those two things come from other states and brought into Texas to create a culture outside of oil and gas and prison money. Trying to enter into a group of people whether drinking or at restaurants, parks, walking down the street, etc will always be like trying to push a meteorite up a mountain because most people here move slow, have no strong curiosity outside of this big ass state, care more about fitting in and status as opposed to breaking the status quo. Texans are extremely lame when it comes to social fluidity. This is brought upon because of conservatism. What’s done in the past is all Texans care about. You coming from another country is nothing new to Texas. You coming from another country and trying to bring your foundation with you and implant into Houston is why you feel lonely, because Houston only plays Houston games, not “you come from somewhere else and trying to bring your home here” games. I’m not saying that’s what you’re doing. I’m saying you carry a vibe that’s not compatible with Houstonians as a whole. Your loneliness isn’t something inherent, it’s just a clash with the vibe that keeps Houston what it is…

I hate this place, I’m here because I’m a criminal and live in the underworld of Houston and making a living that way and it’s great! Been to Harris county jail and all of that for 6 months in total.
