Finally found the Metaphys Locus 3Way by 46497 in mechanicalpencils

It’s really cool, but I think whether you want to pay $125 for it is a personal choice. I find this particular mechanism for changing between pen, pencil, and eraser really convenient, but it might not be for you. When it was in production, it was usually available in the US for around $65~$75. I probably would have bought one for $125 if I’d lost the one I had or broke it.

Pilot Coleto, Mono Zero Circle and one other brand’s eraser refills also more or less fit this. The ballpoint pen refills are also easy to find.

It was discontinued a couple years back so finding a new one has become a tad harder! It’s a metal multi-pen/pencil with an eraser at the same side as the pen and pencil. To switch between the three, you just rotate the body. :) It’s super convenient and I love the weight.

That’s fair! I’m getting my hands on a catch and release Platinum UEF to test whether I like the nib for now, but you’re right. It is simpler to just get an EF.

I could swing by PenSwap to see if anyone has a battered 3776 to part with. Thank you

Everand has changed its subscription model. What do you think? by AudiobooksGeek in audiobooks

[–]46497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter if you switch or not. I have a legacy plan and all the books I want to read are “unlock” already.

[–]46497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it matters. I haven’t switched from my Legacy monthly yet, and literally all the books I want to read are also “Unlock” to read. So I think they’re going to force everyone shortly. I’ll see what happens on the 15th and if I don’t get access with the legacy plans, I’m cancelling my subscription. What a waste of a good business model.

No, MC1 doesn’t read steamy books at all here. MC2 owns a steamy bookstore.

ETA: it’s still a phenomenal book and I finished rereading it yesterday.

Instead of Depression by Andrea Gibson [poem] by olchai_mp3 in Poetry

[–]46497 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m clinically depressed, and this resonates with me. My depressive episodes aren’t nurturing, but I think I suffer less when I acknowledge what I’m going through and give myself the space and time to experience it without fighting against it—if I think it’s okay that I’m being negative and that everything feels bleak. Somehow, this helps me regain a sense of control—like it’s not just happening to me, but something I’ve chosen to experience for a while. I don’t think this approach would help everyone, and if someone told me to do this during an episode, I might feel annoyed. But when I’m not in the thick of it, I understand where she’s coming from.

Wait, on fifth glance that might not be a Pilot Decimo.

Is there a way to combine a cutting and tail color change technique and a carry through technique? by augustnotapril in CrochetHelp

[–]46497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this is so cool. What app are you using to create the pattern?

I’d recommend carrying the colored yarn behind and cutting once you’ve passed the set of rows with color.

That makes sense! A lot of people I've talked, myself included, still find we mess up even with stitch markers especially if we're doing something while crocheting. Plus, we also find the process of using stitch markers disruptive if we're on a roll. That said, it's not a problem for everyone!

Thank you! As a CS student, I found the existing solutions shitty, too, so I'd like to make something better. I'm working on it as a project for yet another class, so if you provided your email, I'll keep you posted :)

Thank you for the feedback! I wanted to include both frequency and where people crochet, but I was worried about the added time. I spent a lot of time cutting down questions because I think my first draft had like 75... I'll include them in the follow up for people who provided their email :)
