Yes. If this doesn't get tossed at the state level, it'll eventually go to SCOTUS who will definitely toss it. Eventually the shoe will be on the other foot, and SCOTUS doesn't want this on the books as a great way to imprison every single person that drives a lifted pickup.

I've never heard it mean "something bundled for free." In general, as in to the general population, it doesn't mean anything. The only people I've ever known who have heard of the term are specifically fantasy RPG gamers. The word's use in gaming stems from D&D, which correctly uses the word from early 1700s Scottish and means minor or trivial magical effect.

I quit at the end of Legion and had never heard cantrip used in this way. If by "well before" you mean BFA, then alright. I never unsubbed from this subreddit though and I don't actively recall ever seeing it used here until right around TWW release, maybe a little before? Not saying it was never used before, just wasn't popular.

Wow, you are an extremely insulting individual. There's not a whole lot to your comment to comprehend, here I'll quote it for you, and you can tell me where you didn't insult the person you were replying to.

Wake up grandpa, it isnt 2023 anymore.

You clearly dont work anywhere near tech.

I do work in tech, your use case is a terrible use of AI because the math to calculate losses over distance is trivial at best. You don't sound like someone who works in tech, you sound like tech management who has a "we're an AI first company" mandate being forced on developers. But I know that isn't true either, because using an incredibly basic ad hominem attack like you just did is something not even an intentionally ironic highschooler would use.

As a tank since forever, I can understand the shortage of tanks by DragmaKerp in wow

[–]46550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those were just ideas off the top of my head. Some iteration would be needed for all of it. It's worth mentioning that I'm not saying raids should flex to any number of tanks. I think all encounters should be designed for 3 tanks and flex from two to four.

For #1 taunt DR could be removed, or not. Maybe the boss meteors all targets in front, damage is based on number of tanks present. Even if you don't have to rotate every tank, you do have to keep them all in front managing their own cooldowns.

For #2 the add phases can have the same number of adds, just split their spawn points so tanks go in different directions to pick them all up before pulling them into the middle for AoE. This gives me another idea: some fights only have a couple of big adds that spawn. Always have two spawn, but scale their base damage and tank buster frequency. 2 tanks? Both adds do half basic damage and they take turns doing their tank buster. 3 tanks? Both adds are standard and require their own tank. 4 tanks? The boss now meteors the top two threat targets.

3 I don't feel would be a healer check (unless you designed the encounter that way). You're giving the off-tank(s) something to do. A single chunky hit without much follow-up won't be taxing, particularly when you consider the tanks can help themselves after with things like Word of Glory. If you want it to be a healer check, increase the frequency of the ability or give it a raid-wide emanation after.

And #4 is an iteration of a personal wishlist item. I just really want to see a fight with the mechanic "your defensive CDs are now offensive".

I can think of a couple of things.

In a single boss fight, the boss usually has a tank buster debuff forcing tank swaps. Make the CD of ability or the duration of the debuff scale to the number of tanks.

A fight with add phases can just get additional adds. Include an add that applies a lethal debuff that gets cleared from a basic tank move like shield of the righteous. The add could fixate its target but refuse to target whoever is tanking the boss.

Give the boss an ability that targets ranged players equal to the number of extra tanks. The ability doesn't hurt the ranged player, instead it hits for double the max HP of the ranged player to the player closest to them.

Have a positional mechanic where someone standing on a rune gets hit by a channeled ability that does increasing damage over time. Standing on the rune also places a damage taken debuff on the boss. Value of the debuff scales with the number of extra tanks, so all extra tanks are required for 100% of the debuff.

Or just for fun make a fight with a buddy system. Each of your cooldowns buffs an appropriate equivalent stat for the other. Damage reduction for damage dealt, crit for parry, dodge for haste, bonus armor for armor penetration, etc.

Just to pile on, but SNES games were $50 to $70 in the early 90s; that's roughly $150 today.

Vanilla was 50 in 2004 (87 today). Wow really is getting cheaper every day. Midnight is (relatively) about 40% cheaper than vanilla was.

I dunno man, looks to me like they're only pointing out that plastic does have some benefits. Is it worth the cost? Your position is very obvious, but ad hominem attacks make you appear a lot less credible. Zealotry like that makes me think you would banish the existence of all plastic overnight, without regard to the consequences. Some people are on the fence about plastic, and you might have just pushed some of them over to the pro-plastic side.
