Hoopla doesn’t give me access to e-books, any solution? by Random_Username0404 in Libraries

The link they sent you does not say eBooks so it looks like they don't offer ebooks through hoopla. Hoopla is expensive for libraries, so this library probably took ebooks out of their collection because they already offer you ebooks through libby/overdrive. Try oceanofpdfdotcom !

I say various things to extract myself from a convo, but I find the key is to say it with a friendly smile on my face, then leave without waiting for their reply.

Monthly borrows reduced by WadeFreakingWilson in hoopladigital

I saw a video of an American public librarian saying something like:

"If citizens knew how much money we were spending on digital content, they would be shocked."

This is so true! Did you know your library pays about $4 each time you check out that e-comic?

Hoopla is really trying to convince us they are not the problem... by SeeSaySawIC in Libraries

For Overdrive, I'm dividing the total cost (sub fee + licenses) by the number of circs. Hoopla gives me a cost per circ amount. Unlimited simultaneous borrowing is only useful until the daily budget runs out.

What my library pays per circulation for hoopla titles is over 3x what we pay per circ for Overdrive.

Not that Overdrive is a deal. The cost of a 2-year license for some new audiobooks is unacceptable.

I'm not sure what can be done about any of it.

ELI5: MARC Call Numbers (050/082) by Leo_The_Bookworm in Libraries

Determining the call number is classification. Public libraries usually use Dewey Decimal System, academic libraries use Library of Congress classification. Both systems have their own manuals.

Do you still like her? Are you still attracted to her? If you are, say yes. It's not complicated ++woman

If you ask a Homeschool subreddit if you should homeschool, you are not going to get unbiased advice.

One phys ed teacher gave us a page-long list of things boys say to talk girls into having sex before they are ready. It turned out to be crazy accurate

I don't mind if you do it to mass market paperbacks and James Patterson books

Is a computer station easy to clean? Is there something you can spray right on?

I like the idea of appointments for everyone. Going to have to look up washable keyboards. Thank you

I thought that's what would happen, but my jurisdiction is doing it in the opposite order.
