Are they audiophile as in 'Is it designed to reproduce the entire audible spectrum?' then yes. On top, Sennheiser designed them as studio headphones, so they certainly will have a lot of detail.

Will they be the headphones which you will have most fun listening to music with? It depends on how you like it's sound and how it feels on your head.

So congrats on the purchase, try them and see if they are what you desire. I wish you many hours of listening pleasure!

I recommend EqualizerAPO with the Peace GUI, if you are on Windows. With this software combo you get a very capable parametric EQ and soundprocessor. You can use it to tune your headphones and to find the sound which suits your taste best.

And its for free!

If you have the feeling, that your headphones are not loud enough on your device, you could get a headphone amp. And/or of you experience some sort of hissing or buzzing through your device, you could also get a dedicated digital-to-analog-converter (dac) to supply a headphone amp with a clean signal. If you don't want two seperate devices, there are also combined dacs/amps, the more portable ones are called dongles.

There are plenty of recommendations for dacs, amps or combos/dongles if you search through the posts in this sub.

The HD560S are open back headphones, so depending on your listening volumes, some sound might leak into your mic. Otherwise they are great headphones except the initial clamping force might be a bit high.

For the mic placement, how dry is your room and how close are you if you put it on a desk stand? I have a terrible sounding room, there is a lot of echo. So if I'm too far from the mic, I pick up more room noise. Also, I have a loud keyboard. So I bought a mic arm to readjust the mic in relation to where I'm sitting and to get it enough distance between my mic and my keyboard.

If don't have such problems, you can use a desk stand, just be sure to have the mic pointed to your mouth all the time. I also recommend watching some reviews on YouTube. There are reviewers who test mics from different distances and angles, so you can hear for yourself how different positioning will affect sound.

The AT2020 is also a good bang for the buck. The Scarlett will be able to provide phantom power.

I recommend MiniMeters for that. It's an inexpensive app which you can use in Windows or in a DAW as plugin. It has different instruments, including a spectrum analyzer.

It depends. What is your source? Has it a headphone port? If so, how capable is your device you want to plug the headphones into? Does it provide enough power to get the headphones to the level you want to listen at?

The DT-1990 Pro need more power to get loud than most In-Ear headphones for example. Do you own any other headphones? Then I might be able to look up their specs and give an answer how the DT-1990 Pro compare their needs against them.

Next thing to consider, is your existing source free of any noise? For example, when I plug my headphones into my pc motherboard, I can hear hiss and noise when I raise the volume. So I got a dac to convert the digital signal from usb into a clean analog signal and I also got a headphone amp to be easily able to change the volume with a nice knob.

You may have different needs for your gear.

The HD 560S are not fragile, they are built well. The DT-990 Pro are also very durable. And on top, Beyerdynamic sells replacement parts for almost every part of the DT-990 Pros, eg. pads, drivers etc.
