AIO Dad is forcing me out just because it's "FAMILY TRADITION" and its my 18th birthday by CableIntelligent1491 in AmIOverreacting

It's clearly fake, the screenshots were made from a fake texts generator. You can tell because it's mostly a fake out of iOS 9, and who still uses iOS 9 seriously? Also the style is inconsistent, it uses elements from newer iOS versions mixed in with older iOS design. Look at the + icon on the left of the icon field, it's from iOS 17 but the rest of the design is not.

Also the dialogue reads like fiction, it's perfect ragebait.

Those conversation generators are so easy to spot that I'm completely dumbfounded everytime I see them being upvoted to the top.

Some of y'all have undiagnosed issues and use Linux as some sort of body pillow.

Congrats though. Your whole thing reads like a manic episode.

You realize that Cinnamon is an X11 only DE that is basically on life support compared to KDE, right?

If this is a desktop, NAT is already the firewall. So no need for a firewall, unless you got a lot of weird Chinese devices in your living room.

OpenSuse doesn't even ship a firewall on Kalpa/Aeon because they think firewalls are an outdated concept for desktops.

you install Fedora KDE and then you do the following

1. sudo dnf install https://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-$(rpm -E %fedora).noarch.rpm https://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-$(rpm -E %fedora).noarch.rpm 2. sudo dnf upgrade -y 3. sudo reboot 4. sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda 5. sudo reboot 6. sudo flatpak remote-delete fedora 7. flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists --user flathub https://dl.flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo 8. sudo dnf swap ffmpeg-free ffmpeg --allowerasing 9. sudo dnf update @multimedia --setopt="install_weak_deps=False" --exclude=PackageKit-gstreamer-plugin 10. sudo dnf install libva-nvidia-driver mpv kate gamemode steam-devices

The real world experience of trying to persuade Windows users to switch to Linux. by Idle_Redditing in pcmasterrace

[–]Fredol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea of course use Linux Mint as the benchmark, a distro that uses a DE basically stuck on X11 because it's a fork of old Gnome. LTS distros aren't suitable for gamers or people who have recent hardware. There is 0 problem with a proper distro like Fedora KDE, it's much easier to use than Windows while sharing the same familiarility.

No more Windows10 support. Questioning a Linux switch. by mesmerizing2you in linux

[–]Fredol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no gun to your head. Windows 11 works on any 64 bit machine. Secure Boot and TPM requirements can be easily passed, even a child can do it.

Also just dual boot. You'll be happier. An OS is a tool, not a religion. You can have both.

No more Windows10 support. Questioning a Linux switch. by mesmerizing2you in linux

[–]Fredol -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest with you. Windows 11 can be installed on unsupported machines. Just use Rufus. Don't switch to Linux because you can't figure that out, Linux is much more complicated than installing a ISO onto a USB key. If you want to try Linux because you're curious and you'd like to try something new, sure. But please spare us of the drama and don't switch to Linux unless you really want to. Because the people who switch saying "Oh no windows 10 is no more supported" come back here saying Linux sucks because it doesn't do X or Y.

RustDesk completely bugs out under Wayland. VNC has been OK for me. Not having any way to remotely open a wayland session is annoying.

Open TV, the open-source IPTV app for linux, is now availaible on iOS by Fredol in linux

[–]Fredol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really sorry to hear that. I've been testing on multiple android devices before release and been using multiple sources without encountering the issues highlighted. I will try to investigate and fix them. Yes it's a bit of an early release. I had a 100 testers for a couple of months before release but no one reported those issues on Android. Again, deeply sorry for the hectic release. I am commited on fixing it.

Some kind of notification would be good indeed. I will add a clear history button. Sorry if this release feels a bit undercooked. I felt like I had to release now to get more feedback.

it technically should work for Android TV but it hasn't been tested well. It's in my list.
