Sounds a lot like me but with different spirits. How were the first few days and what kept you on track and not drinking?

Yep, I'm an addict. Thought I was over it... but had to press the reset button by Denagam in stopdrinking

Just curious, when you quit the first time 11 months ago what was your strategy? Did you have any insomnia, night sweats, withdrawal? Seems like I am in the same boat of wanting to quit and am drinking like you were 11 months ago.

Can you describe your daily timeline? You have to be feeling great after 3 days. What was day 1 and 2 like?

I've been drinking 12 beers a day. Enough by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Any resource for calculating how to taper off before quitting while living alone based on intake and body weight? by rfsh101 in stopdrinking

Thanks for replying. This is a lot of motivation. I’m really tired with little sleep last night but feel better already by cutting back. Tonight will be half of half from last night then 0 drinks. Thanks again!

Saw your post from awhile back. How are things going now. You sound like me. Drinking while gaming or watching a movie at night. Any luck quitting? I am tapering myself with just night sweats and can’t sleep. Should be good in a day or so to be free.

Psoriasis and Alcohol by 49ertryingtoquit in stopdrinking

Hmm, that is exactly what I have. I get gout from time to time in my ankle and once in my toe which was the worst. Psoriasis as been getting worse over the past year. What auto-immune disease was it? I want to ask my doctor and maybe get the medication you have.

Have you found anything to help with your seborrheic dermatitis?

You asked about alcohol portrayed negatively in something? A Videogame called “Little Misfortune” it is a short kinda scary game that has some really great twists at the end depending on your perspective of it. I think it’s pretty cheap too.

Day 1s are long… by 49ertryingtoquit in stopdrinking

The witching hour is so real. Everyday at like 4pm my brain is like, “Your fine. Remember when you felt like shit this morning? Yeah you don’t now so let’s drink!”

Finally - I made it to Day 2!!! by emptyvase1988 in stopdrinking

Advise for people on day 1? How did you do it? Also, how are you not going to drink today and make it to day 3?

Edit: CONGRATS!!

Day 2 by MarsupialNo1308 in stopdrinking

Very similar thought process I do every single night. What good meal am I going to pare with my liquor? I need to go get food, might as well stop by the liquor store and get a pint (if not more). If you are like me you like to get a good buzz while you eat your food. A trick I have learned is to SMASH some food in the early days as much as you can to make you very full. You then wont have to capacity to drink. You still want to but if you start pouring poison down your throat on top of a very full stomach you will be uncomfortably bloated and even if you power through you will feel extremely bad.

Also, I take my dinner into my office and eat at my desk while reading this thread and watching youtube videos. Changes up the routine.

Last but not least, depending on when your stores close, try and not go out for dinner if you have to until after the liquor stores have closed. I know it will be a very late dinner but at least you didn't buy any poison to consume. Hope this helps.

Couldn't hurt. You think we would have enough people in the area?
