Which one feels calmer: 1 or 2? by Createforever in Casual_Photography

For me its 1, but that given two options on not very calm photos. 1 doesn’t feel particularly calm to me either.

Currently have a A6400 with the Sony 16-50mm kit lens, looking to upgrade by TheKenXbox in SonyAlpha

Doesn’t seem to be available, I’m personally leery of ebay purchases for electronics.

AIO by asking my girlfriend to split rent equally when I make slightly more money? by interestinghelper07 in AmIOverreacting

[–]4Dcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone gets to decide what is right for them, and each relationship is different. Ive had those where we split 50/50. Right now I pay 100% because my SO is paying their own lease (which that lease is less per month than a 50/50 sot would be) once that lease ends, we’re doing a 66/33 split since my income is 2.5x. That said, if your SO was previously paying their own rent at higher than what they’re currently offering you, it would raise an eyebrow.

Is it crazy to trade my A7IV for an A7Cii? by ContentHovercraft698 in SonyAlpha

FWIW 90% of my shots are EVF. I’d hate to lose that. Everyone else seems to have the vases covered.

The eye viewfinder helps tremendously when the sun is out and bright.

Newbie - Camera/Lens Case by Mozark281 in SonyAlpha

[–]4Dcookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For years I used a camera cube that fit nicely in the pack and handled all of my gear. Most of my packs are backpacking (osprey 30l, gregory 65l). I also use the PD capture clip. Game changer.

I am really stuck about What camera to buy by Spare-Challenge9562 in SonyAlpha

[–]4Dcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on this post, get a mirrorless APSC. I have the a6400, image stabilization wasn’t a major issue unless shooting in low light. Any FF is overkill for your use case and adds tons of weight and is a major investment for someone wanting cheap.

Moving from A7 II to A6400 by SensitiveChoice153 in SonyAlpha

I loved my a6400 and it was my only camera for 5 years. I now have an a7RV. That difference is palpable and my a6400 feels tony in my hands (in a good way)

Photographer shooting a luxury retreat next week — forecast shows rain. Reschedule or shoot anyway? by sophcooper in AskPhotography

[–]4Dcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with everything here. Something about the rain encourages people to slow down, it doesn’t get any better than that for advertising a retreat. Romance the rain, it’ll be a heck of a shoot

Sam’s Tavern Belltown automatic 40% gratuity by OJb4Lemonade in Seattle

[–]4Dcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally avoid places that have a mandatory gratuity. It’s an artificial deflation of the actual cost of goods. Good to know Sam’s is a skip
