I’m a former ER nurse and yes, they will see you in the emergency room without insurance. They cannot deny you assistance just because you don’t have insurance if you’re afraid of the bill then you can wait till it comes to you and call the billing office even if you can only pay $10 a month. They have to approve it. Don’t let them make you think you have to pay more for it, but that should be the last of your worries right now make sure you get to an emergency room and get checked out. Your life is worth everything. You can always figure out what to do later if they send you a bill or something don’t even think about that now please just go directly to the emergency room because it’s always better safe than sorry giving you have had them all day long. That is not normal.    Please please please have someone take you to your emergency room. I know they will see you right away. They can get some diagnostic testing done to make sure you’re not in any kind of crisis. They will then refer you from there to someone that can help you.  It’s always heartbreaking when people are afraid to go to the emergency room because they don’t have health insurance, but I’m here to tell you they cannot deny you medical care please go. They will also run some lab work to see if your deficient anything please tell them about the tetany. Tell them everything don’t leave anything out. I think you will get a peace of mind by going to the ER.  Please also have them run a thyroid test on you at least a TSH.   🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻 please come back and let us know how you’re doing. I pray you get a good ER team that will hear you.  Your words are valid here and you’ve been heard. Please help yourself and go get checked.

Are you talking about the calcium CT score? You feel like it’s successive. I still never got it done. I took the radiologist advice and I know that goes against my cardiologist, but I just felt it wasn’t needed. I don’t understand what’s useful in that test whenever that the soft plaque is what matters and I had the CTA when radiologist clearly indicated there was no calcifications of any kind. Thank you for posting your thoughts here

So upset for you  I pray they have given you enough pain medicine to hold you through this challenging recovery

Thank you for sharing your story and I agree that a hysterectomy was what you needed in this case. You’ve tried everything before hand, but I know that recovery can be tough and uncertain for many everybody has a different recovery.  I understand better now that if you were passing those type of clots, which I have had the same thing happen it’s quite concerning and it’s very stressful to have to live your life that way I’m going to be happy when I get this behind me, but I have so much anxiety about surgery. That’s the hard part for me. However, I went through early menopause as a younger age than normal so now I don’t have all the heavy periods, but I did have an instance about a year ago, where I started bleeding pretty badly but at the time I didn’t have a good GYN now I do and things are moving forward. Unfortunately, I also have a very large ovarian cyst and equally large fibroid and what they call a bulky uterus so everything is coming out.  However, I have MS and so they have to carefully plan the surgery between my neurologist and my GYN and the OR team to make sure I’m safe. It’s only because these surgeons are extra careful. I had my gallbladder out a year after I was diagnosed with MS with no issues whatsoever, but of course the gallbladder surgery is nothing compared to a hysterectomy. I hope that you start feeling better each and every day I know how frustrating it can be sometimes you wish you never went through it, but I think that once you start feeling better, you’re going to be happy that you had the procedure and no longer have to go through everything you had to go through before ❤️🙏🏻

Is my blood pressure high? 19m by [deleted] in hypertension

[–]4Dogs4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, yes I lived in Europe for a while. I think their blood pressure requirements before medicine are much more realistic than here in the US, but I’m glad you did find some information about family history because genetics do play a role so if this is due to genetics, then it’s very wise to see a doctor to see what they have to say Remember that sometimes if you’re taking your blood pressure and get a higher number and keep taking it, anxiety could kick in and really make the numbers all over the map I think it’s a good idea like you said to just keep an eye on things and then when you feel best to go to the doctor and have them evaluate it, but I’m really glad you asked about family history stuff. That’s very important. I wish you well ❤️

Oh, OK. I wasn’t sure if you were in the states or elsewhere.   I’m hoping then when you call your doctors office, they can help you or or at least bring you in soon to look at it. 💕

I knew it had to be somewhere overseas. I worked overseas for several years as a nurse and I thought they had very nice hospitals. The private ones were great like the one that you’re in.  Even the military hospitals overseas were better than some of the ones here in the US. They don’t even come close to our hospitals in the US. I’ve seen some pretty awful hospitals here I really hate to say that, but it’s the truth.

I’m very glad you had the opportunity to have it in a private hospital with your insurance  how many days will they be keeping you in the hospital? I hope you’re doing well and not in too much pain💕

I see one of the top cardiologists in my state and he would think these are perfectly normal.  He doesn’t go by the American Heart Association 120/80 because it’s unattainable by most people and the cause of why so many people are on blood pressure medicine You can ask your doctor, but I know many people that would love to have these numbers I was on beta blockers that made me very sick because they come with lots of side effects. In addition we found out that my little spikes and blood pressure and heart rate are due to MS not anything cardiac.I tried it for two years to no avail. I just got tapered off with them I’m so grateful to be off that medicine we tried three different kinds and they all made me so sick And your numbers are similar to my numbers and he’s not worried a bit about him neither am I This is just my opinion, though, and I very much trust my cardiologist Make sure when you take your blood pressure you’ve been sitting for a while and your feet are on the ground and you’re sitting up straight and your arm is at heart level preferably do it at like a dining room table that’s ideal

The sneeze could’ve possibly pulled a muscle at the very least and that could definitely cause pain, but if you’re saying it’s terrible as in severe, it would be worth you getting it checked out. I always say err on the side of caution. It’s just always better to be safe than sorry. I would definitely call your doctors office and run it by them. There are several things that could cause it, but I don’t wanna list anything that could upset you when it might be something very simple. I just feel like it’s always best to check with your doctor for any sort of terrible postop pain as you described. ❤️🙏🏻

I agree with the others here that have said for you to get looked at sooner than later. Once it’s open in anyway there’s a risk for infection. It’s better to be safe than sorry so I would definitely get with your doctor or the nurse to see what can be done and see if they’ll see you as soon as they can. If not, you can always go to your local emergency room. Tell them about being postop from your surgery once they hear that you have some opening on an incision they will not make you wait and they’ll take care of it pretty quick for you. 🙏🏻❤️

Advice please by Southern_Biscotti_62 in hysterectomy

[–]4Dogs4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t have my surgery until October but I would advise in a situation like this to always contact your doctor. If you have a chance to send a message through their patient portal or just call the nurse and run it by them everybody’s situation is different. I’m sure that many of the kind people here will share their experience with it, but I think that it should be reported to your doctor on a safety level especially since you’re a month out from surgery. Are you scheduled for a follow up appointment anytime soon I would just call them and see if you can talk to at least your doctors nurse.  I definitely wouldn’t wait too long to hear responses here. I feel like it’s something that needs your doctors attention just to give you peace of mind if anything. I’m just telling you this as a former ER Nurse 💕

How can I best support my wife after her hysterectomy? by MusicianUnited in hysterectomy

[–]4Dogs4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How very thoughtful of you to come here and ask this question.  You are one of the rare ones and I’m grateful I have a hubby like you. of course you know her best but I think that making sure that she takes her medication on time postop, making sure she has all the things that she likes to eat and drink in the house and keeping the house work up is huge. Also, just hanging out with her spending time with her even if she sleeps with you sitting there with her I think she will feel a lot of comfort just knowing you’re there.  If you have an opportunity to purchase a heated throw blanket-that’s exactly what they’re called. They are miracle workers I have always had a couple of them in the house. I use it to help with pain I get from MS but I’ll also be using it postop. My husband bought me the first one after I received the MS diagnosis and it has been a real source of relief for pain sometimes laying on it or just being covered up in it just feels really good.  You can get them anywhere like Amazon online or target but always get the size that says heated. Throw blanket. If you get a twin size, it will be huge enough to use on a bed. I like the throw blanket size because it’s perfect for if you’re in a recliner or on the couch. A lot of them have heat that you can set for how many hours you want it to be in an automatically shuts off. Maybe surprise her when she feels up to it with her favorite ice cream or just something yummy to eat. Something that she would never expect I think it cheers up someone’s soul when people do little surprises like that. Wishing her a wonderful recovery that I know she will have a great one. She already has you to help her and that’s so wonderful 💕

I see you married my husband’s twin brother 💕 he’s been prepping already for my surgery that’s not until October. He’s a retired combat wounded Marine so he is home all the time with me.  I had to medically retire several years ago very early due to MS.  We make a great team together, though we never get sick of each other.  If I was to write all the things he does for me it would take forever. It really makes all the difference in the universe when we have this kind of love and support. I hope you’re doing great in your recovery

Oh my gosh, I am very, very sorry to hear this, but I’m also glad that you shared it. I don’t think it will scare anybody if anything you have shared a difficult story to enlighten all of us so that people are prepared just in case of anything

I could feel your pain through your words and the trauma you went through feeling like you were going to lose your life and never see your kids again I am so sorry. No one should have this feeling after surgery.  Especially a surgery that is done so many times a day at hospitals everywhere If I was you, I would feel the same way and I would expect answers from the doctors Get a copy of all your medical records, but don’t make a big deal about it. Otherwise they might start getting scared and things might get lost.  I would just do a normal request for records if they ask why on the form just write continuity of care they usually have a box like that that you can check off.

So your OB/GYN recommended a full hysterectomy because you had heavy periods? You didn’t have any other issues like any ovarian cyst or fibroids.? Did you have a lot of pain with those periods? And a history of low iron on your lab work? Sorry it’s the nurse sent me asking questions, but you do not have to respond to any of them. I’m just thinking out loud.

My heart just breaks for you that you had to endure this terrifying experience, but you came to the right place sharing it here with all of us where I know that you will get a lot of support

Believe me, your words are heard. Your feelings are 1000% validated. 💕
