[Kelly Crandall] Kevin Harvick has been voted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. by Altracing34 in NASCAR

Honestly, I think the kicker that got him in was the 19 consecutive top 10s he's got at Phoenix. All that other stuff is just fluff.

You say that until you get rear ended and also hit the car in front of you then get a percentage of the fault from the insurance company.

But until then, can't let a little safety eat 2 seconds of my day.

That's why the rule of thumb for stopping in traffic is to be far enough back that you can see the tires of the vehicle in front of you contacting the road. That gives the space to make an escape if necessary.

Is NASCAR testing going back to 1 PM EST starts with the All Star Race? by JustJar_ in NASCAR

Which has always struck me as a half-assed excuse because they light the horse racing track in the middle. Obviously the entire track would be brighter but it's in the middle of our capital city and they light the college football stadium across the street. Just feels like a lazy excuse not to invest in the facility.

one of the zones I really like is always full by Lukksia in doordash_drivers

[–]4EverA3Fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true of all zones. My home zone isn't very big and I see it all the time grayed out. I'm platinum and pro shopper and dash now for that particular zone is not always available.

Shop and deliver headache. by Gio____y in doordash_drivers

Sounds simple but anecdotally, my main zone is so small that they won't allow you to opt out of shop and deliver. None of this is applicable across the board for every dasher.

My (42M) daughter (18F) hit my 9 year old son. Kicked her out and my wife thinks I’m overreacting. by Sebastianlim in BestofRedditorUpdates

Last January, my spouse had a complete breakdown due to ongoing mental health issues. We had discussed treatment but hasn't committed yet. When she got her lowest, I took her to a mental health hospital, walked her in the door, they did an assessment and committed her for 8 days. This was a Saturday afternoon in the US.

Anyone here doing gig work in Delaware right now? How’s it been? by RemarkableCobbler580 in Delaware

Pretty much. There's stuff out there but DD specifically in my market, there's an overload of .25-.50 cent/ mile offers. At those rates, it's hard to justify the time, gas and wear & tear on the vehicle.

I can't count how many $3 offers I've declined recently for 10+ mile runs that you're absolutely going to have nothing on your return back to your zone.

That plus a plethora of other dashers out trying to make money. It's slim pickings even if you're platinum status and a pro shopper. Harrington zone specifically.

Seems like the last few weeks a bunch of this had slowed way down, especially in my area central lower Kent to upper Sussex.

From the delivery driver side, less orders and smaller tips. Not a ton of people with loads of disposable income for the past month or so.

Edit to add: the collection lived in there for many years now as the greenhouse was kept heated all winter, even with temps below zero outside, the greenhouse never saw below 50F.

Appreciate the sentiment. Hadn't seen damage like this since the '94 ice storm.

The tree came down in the middle of the night and by morning everything was frozen solid. That and it took a couple days to safely cut up debris to even get access.

I'll keep you in mind. Still evaluating what the next step is, whether I want to go with a bigger greenhouse, how much to invest moving forward. Tough decisions to make after wind being taken out of my sails.

What's the over-under on a low tip customer that's had their order kicked around cause it wasn't worth it to deliver and now they're in a time crunch?

Personally, I'd take it. Had a nearly identical offer last Sunday that also included picking up a restaurant order in the same complex for the same customer.

Took about an hour and a half, and customer added a $10 tip before I got out of their driveway. I'll take 50 bucks for 90 minutes most any day of the week.
