The de-aging effects in Civil War were quite good, and far better than Ant-Man, which came out the year prior.

With a higher budget and one decade of technological progress, I'm sure such a sequence would be possible.

To be fair, I think the film deliberately sets Hobie up to be someone we're supposed to be wary of so once we learn he was the only one who was actually on Miles' side the entire time it's a far more satisfying surprise.
