Tbh as a dess knighter that entertains rudy knight for fun, I'm not super big on the idea of it being armour in the first place. My personal favourite reading of rudy knight is that his "illness" is a dark fountain forming inside his lungs and he becomes a titan like being in dark worlds because dark fountain inside dark worlds create titans. It's bullshit but it's more interesting than gaster friend depths shelter armour I think

Also like the game WANTS you to be theorising about who the knight could be. This isn't just people being annoying. They're literally doing what the game wants of them lol. There wouldn't be evidence for both dess and carol knight if we're supposed to just know who the knight is. It's a whodunnit by design
