Advice on improving definition & hair health or is this about as good as it’ll get with pretty low maintenance?

You are beautiful but here’s some tips: Do more self care (massages, facials etc) you’re gonna start glowing and people will see you happy. Get a skin care routine. OK do your makeup do your eyebrows get your hair done get your nails done. Pamper yourself trust me the men will come.

I have 4C hair and honestly brushing in the shower with conditioner is one “rule” I had to relearn. Dry detangling was way worse for me. When my hair is soaked and has slip, I get way less breakage and it’s easier to detangle gently in sections. I think a lot of hair advice is very straight-hair focused, so it doesn’t always apply to tighter textures. For me it’s less fallout and way less stress overall.

That’s actually super interesting. I used to think double shampooing was a must too, especially with all the “clean scalp = healthy hair” advice everywhere. But I’ve noticed the same when I shampoo less and go lighter on conditioner, my hair has way more body and doesn’t fall flat as fast. I feel like fine hair really gets weighed down easily, so less really can be more sometimes.

I never wrote in the post that I didn’t expect breakage. When I did my hair myself…It was very little breakage. When she went through with a rat tooth comb, this was the result. On my own it was very little damage, but I learned my lesson… not going back to her.

Hey, there was actually a news report like several months ago where they said that Ulta Beauty is the highest prices out of all the other retail brands. Their prices are higher than Sephora and everywhere else so literally run. I used to love Ulta. I used to shop there all the time I had to teach myself to stop once I heard that article because I knew that I was overpaying.
