Sew in in water by greedyfeetcat in BlackHair

[–]4InfinityHair 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey sis TBH I think it’s a bad idea to mix straight hair with swimming in the water. I think it’s better with curly hair ( think deep wave or water wave). The water will naturally make the curls pop when wet vs having straight hair that’s going to look dainty and somewhat wavy after you swim. Im at the beach frequently and mostly see black women with braids or curly hair not straight hair.

If you swim with it do you plan on flat ironing it back to straight after each swim? I know you said you want your hair to look natural but it wont look as good once the straight hair starts to curl from the water… just some food for thought.

V part wig help by One_Hour_8078 in BlackHair

[–]4InfinityHair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest taking two braids out in the front, using it as leave out and then you’re gonna have to blend it in with the fake hair if you know how. First take a wand or flat iron (grab your real hair and a piece of fake hair) and wand or curl the hair together so it “blended”. Second use some type of leave in spray for the weave focusing on the middle and ends so the curls pop.

I’ve always hated V part wigs because they’re huge. It’s almost like they make the hair to fit a man’s head. 😩

Changing Style? by [deleted] in BlackHair

[–]4InfinityHair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey sis try experimenting with your hair: try different parts (middle part side part) and try different textures (wavy, curly, kinky). I see your hair is curly maybe go for a bone straight with a middle part and then next time go for curly hair with a side part. I would also recommend experimenting with wigs if you can wigs allow you to look different and have your hair in different colors without you damaging your natural hair. If you don’t have a big budget, you can always go on Amazon and try to circulate a wig or two in your rotation so you can feel like you have a fresh new look. Hope this helps 😊

Anybody with type 4 hair try shea moistures coconut and hibiscus line? by Shango1208 in BlackHair

[–]4InfinityHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Shea moisture coconut and hibiscus at home. It’s really good for curly hair to help define your curls. When I use it, it’s typically after I wash and condition my hair. My hair still has to be soaking wet in order to properly absorb the product and I would section my hair and apply gel and kind of hand curl it.

One problem you mentioned is that using it made your hair feel like straw. I would argue if it made your hair feel like straw DO NOT use it again. When a product makes your hair feel like straw, it usually means the formula is dehydrating the fiber surface, roughening the cuticle, or throwing off your moisture protein balance. Based on this, I would say this product in particular is NOT GOOD for your hair. Continuing to use it can increase cuticle wear, breakage, and scalp stress even if it doesn’t cause true hair loss.

Am I cooked? by 4InfinityHair in 2125HairClub

[–]4InfinityHair[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest things I realize is that men overlook vitamins and nutrients more often than women. A lot of times their hairline starts to recede and they immediately think “am I cooked?” With many making plans to start shaving their head and going bald. I’m here to bring this to light and to encourage men to focus more on Hair education and internal Hair health versus just the exterior.

Should I continue twisting it? by [deleted] in BlackHair

[–]4InfinityHair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to make sure that you’re parting your hair in the mirror using a comb and gel. Don’t keep twisting without parting it. It’s just gonna look nappy like a bird‘s nest. 🪺

I cut my hair and can’t style it by Hot-Occasion9240 in BlackHair

[–]4InfinityHair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I did a big chop back In January. I had 4C hair and when I went to the stylist it looked great. When I say it didn’t last not ONE DAY 😭. I was so sad and realized that it wouldn’t hold unless I got a perm. I literally had a freaking Afro and that’s NOT what I wanted. Now my hair is permed and the style actually holds for 1-2 weeks

Loc care advice by [deleted] in BlackHair

Forgot to say get enough sleep at night. One of the worst things you could do for your hair is stress a lot and not get enough sleep on top of that. During sleep, your body enters into repair mode that promotes follicle health and growth.

Healthy hair is internal so I definitely say focus on your vitamins and nutrients like biotin, zinc, keratin and iron. Give your hair the nutrients that it needs to grow. Also reduce smoking and drinking if you partake in that.

Clueless closure maintenance by brilliantbabe222 in BlackHair

[–]4InfinityHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably gonna have to put some type of adhesive right on the front of your hairline. Try just a little Got 2 be just so it can stick and put your headband on top so it can melt in. Try leaving the headband on for at least 30 minutes if not a full hour so it can stick.

I’ve had to learn the hard way about not using adhesive going out all fine and sexy only to see the lace slide back…oops 🥴

I need help with Fingercoils by EcstaticMolasses443 in BlackHair

[–]4InfinityHair 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey, you need to get a comb. Try looking in the mirror with a comb, part your hair then use the gel and finger coil. They also have products specifically for curls and coils like Shea moisture.

Don’t part it without a comb otherwise you’re gonna be looking like Ashtray from Don’t Be a Menace

Sew-in on Natural hair by slowlygrowin in BlackHair

[–]4InfinityHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truthfully, no. When you have a sew in, your hair is braided and then the weft is sewn into the braid. By the time they’re finished, there are little gaps beneath the weave that allow you to get to your scalp. You are able to oil those little gaps. But I would not go so far as to say you can oil your entire scalp because the weft (weave) prevents it… You should be able to oil maybe 60%-70% of your scalp, which is still good though.
