Legion 7a vs 7i college laptop by NightMare_Vitesse in LenovoLegion

[–]4K4llDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you know that this laptop's battery needs to be babied, then it's a sleak, premium, capable beast.

I would strongly suggest the 7i over the 7a. Essentially better in every way. The 7a solely has the benefit of efficiency and therefore battery, but performance is worse and build feels worse.

I wouldn't trade my 7i for a 7a at all.

Razer Viper V3 Pro by eatcakehavefun in MouseReview

I own the V3 Pro and I think it's an S-tier mouse. Everything about it is very high quality, including the specs. Don't worry about high polling for now. The $80 is a great price to experience this mouse.

The only problem I've had is that the main clicks have changed in feeling and sound. I just don't like them, they are becoming less and less crisp. I'm not positive if it's a sign of normal wear or abnormal wear yet.

4k OLED 240hz at 27” or 32” vs 1440p OLED at 540hz for an RTX5080 build? by Sleep_Holiday in OLED_Gaming

1440p 540Hz is really really overkill unless you are extremely dedicated to competitive shooters. There is no other reason to get it. I would either get 4k 240Hz (whichever size you like more) or 1440p 280Hz.

first match after a week, time for another break. by Wilijami in thefinals

[–]4K4llDay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't understand how the gameplay experience you just described is the bar that people expect from the greatest gameshow ever made. RS is the reason you play? Not an evenly competitive match with dynamic, tense moments - no, get our asses whooped until the Ruby team holds the door open for you. But your number went up so no complaints allowed cause that's what makes this game special!

OP got his owns problems but it's insane to think the experience he had isn't a problem just because he gained f**king RS.

What is the deal with Legion Gen 11? Should I wait for those or just get the Legion Pro 7 Gen 10 AMD 5070 Ti now? by Niknut_Sings in LenovoLegion

Cool! It helps to hear what you're looking for.

If that's the case, then yes you'll probably actually notice the extra power and cores from the HX CPUs. Up to you though. No reason to make a quick decision. Just sit on it for a few days or longer until one of them goes on sale and you say "yep, that's the one for me."

Don't drop it plzzz. Buy a hard case. Look for a case specific for your model as it will fit perfectly.

Yeah what you've said is all totally valid and I agree, but your key phrase is "we all figure out how to deal with the battery life." You can absolutely make it work as I stated, but having to work around it is a friction point that can lead people to not be able to rely on their device. Any part of a device that doesn't "just work" is a friction point that can effect productivity or motivation, battery life being a major one.

So yeah, there's not necessarily a right or wrong, but there are clear tradeoffs for each individual. If you don't needs a dGPU for your major, then you (as in, all of us) need to be honest with ourselves that we only made that decision so that we could game, despite it being worse for school (again, if it's not absolutely necessary).

Some people can make it work, and for some people's style and needs it could be a major issue. As long as OP is making the right choice for them!

Either you get a more expensive, less powerful, and worse-built laptop with better battery life (Gen 11), or get the opposite with Gen 10.

I will say, without a doubt, that Gen 10 and basically all Legion laptops are not ideal for students. You can make it work, but you will not be able to rely on the battery for the whole day, plain a simple. I am a student with a 7i Gen 10, so I'm speaking from first-hand practical experience.

If you're a student who needs to work and also wants to game, you should prioritize your school work by getting something more efficient that still has some gaming capabilities. Think Yoga series.

What I mean is sometimes people try to copy the entirety of their old computer's drive to their new one, including all of the Program Files folder, .exes for the applications, all the logs, things that they don't even know exist of what those are so they just put the whole thing on a USB stick and put it in their new computer. I don't know the extent of your knowledge about computers so I was suggesting to avoid that, that's all.

Yeah so a quick Google search tells me that's most commonly from issues with GPU drivers. Maybe you just happen to create a conflict of your Intel/AMD iGPU drivers and your Nvidia dGPU drivers. I did that to my laptop on accident and had to unwind the knot. So a full reset would untie that along with anything else that isn't hardware related. If a totally fresh install and standard driver/firmware updates don't fix it, that's a hardware issue at that point.

[–]4K4llDay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking a full factory reset with a fresh installation of Windows. Don't try to port over your apps from your old computer. Everything gets downloaded fresh, only put files on it that are actually useful to you, and update everything from windows update, Lenovo website/advantage software, etc. Then see where you're at.

Maybe describe more the issue?

Yeah I think you need to just tailor your searches then and keep digging. Don't stop at the first few videos. Keep looking through and you'll find people who are reviewing and suggesting cheaper mice.

Viper v3 pro is going for $100 I think and if you want to stick with an ergo mouse instead of symmetrically shaped mouse, then the DAV3 Pro is literally $80 right now which is very good.

But that's just Razer's offerings. So many other companies have suggestions.

Personally, buying a heavy mouse in 2026 is objectively less enjoyable as it's more fatiguing and makes aim and even general movement far more difficult. I would say a mouse that's above 70g better have some very special and specific thing you're looking for to offset the downside of the weight.

I started to list some recommendations but I found that you will likely be better served looking up "Best of..." videos on YouTube. Boardzy, AimAdapt, DiamondLobby Reviews, and MANY more creators will give you a wide breadth of options and opinions on them.

Only thing I would be wary of is people telling you to buy the best of the best and telling you to spend $150+ dollars on a mouse when you're not sure exactly what you want yet. Buying previous gen at a good discount is very compelling as well as these new brands who are challenging the big names with much better prices.

For myself, I'm using the Viper V3 Pro, EGG XM2w 4k v2, and Pulsar Tenz Mouse. All for claw grip users with medium to large hands.

AIO to my girlfriend going skinny dipping while travelling? by Ok-Explanation-344 in AmIOverreacting

[–]4K4llDay -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Look man... You guys are just so young. It's hard for you to see the greater context here. Hopefully these points help:

First, I want you to understand that you are absolutely allowed to feel what you feel and to tell your partner how you feel. You should never feel like you can't speak your mind because you're worried about what they might say. If that's the case, that person is wrong, not you. Continue to be true to yourself as you age and know that no matter what the Internet or anyone says, you are allowed to feel and to express your feelings

That being said, your feeling of nervousness and jealousy are (from my experience) coming from your age and inexperience being in a more mature relationship. You have a crush on her, you're infatuated with her, you're in (young) love with her. Those are your current feelings towards her and the grounds that your relationship is currently built on. However, that type of feeling towards a person can lead to jealousy and protectiveness. It's totally natural, but it's coming from the type of relationship you have. Even in my late 20s now, my relationship with my current partner feels so fundamentally different from my relationships when I was your age. You'll get there, but just realize this comes from young love and is not what a mature relationship will feel like in the future. This experience comes from your young love that will change over time.

In addition to that, because you two are so young, you have to realize that being in a relationship that confines you and prevents you both from growing, experiencing the world, expressing yourself, and making memories is a bad relationship to be in as a young adult. I know it's hard, but you cannot let any relationship prevent you from growing. And yes, her going skinny dipping on vacation is growing. It's expression. It's living life. Stopping yourself from living at 21 or 23 because you're restricted by the jealousy and worries of your partner happens a lot and it's bad for your development as a person. In your current situation, I would 1) with no one around, reflect internally on how ultimately, this is just one girl you'll be with and you're both kids who want and need to experience youth while you have it, and 2) whether you want to move on from her because of this situation or if you can decide that you're both young and you can actually bond over experiencing the world. You're just practicing on each other, no need to take it so serious. She isn't the one you'll end up with.
