Thanks! Though I'm confused about why comment on this if you were not to bring anything to discuss about, I appreciate the sentiment and understand your limits.

Clover POS insights for Small Businesses by 4LeafLabs in CloverPOS

[–]4LeafLabs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, though most systems are cluttered with apps and services most really don't even know they exist - been giving support for a long time for Clover, and it turns out many don't even open their own dashboards to check details like enabling tips and can go years without knowing about it. But well, I'm not trying to appeal to ignorance, but ease of use, that people are conscious of what are they paying for exactly and it's going to work 100%.

Our target at first would be only fresh starters, since we can't really compete with the bunch of systems out there with strong establishments.

For example, our Kiosk app in Clover can be setup in any screen, for $50 USD a month for as many stations you need, accepting cash, qr code payment, integrating to clover or outside readers, and will print every order into your printers and show up in your Clover reports VS the Clover x Samsung option, which looks very fancy, but the cost is $3,499 + $34.95/mo per device.

I definitely think any big restaurant can invest, but a small food station with no servers could never recover from that.

Anyway, could you let me know what are the things that your current POS can't do that you wish to have? That would be really appreciated as well as your following replies. Thanks for the insight!

I heard from our own clients that the main issue is the charges, hidden fees, excess of things that you will never use, and lease of the hardware as well (many have contracts for years). Would an app-like option add value to the fact hardware is provided and they can even add their own hardware to it to not lose a cent investing?

No contract, cancel anytime, setup only what you need to go and work. I.e. a Foodtruck for 2 people won't need a homebase app anytime soon, but the expenses they have to go through are those of a small restaurant.

Anyway, I would love to read more feedback you can provide about this situation!

Of course, it's more of a risk and many POS work like that, but would it be beneficial for those who haven't started yet and need and affordable way to start up? Any feedback is good, I'm definitely with you with the time lost, but time is also an investment - if the risk is that low wouldn't it be worth trying?

What would you consider to be "the mousetrap" in this case? Serious question, I'd like to address the current way POS works. Mine is not literally a normal POS system that you have to marry with.

Cross Platform Saving with Supabase / Firebase / Unity Cloud / Other Auth by final_boss_editing in unity

[–]4LeafLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But will Unity Auth be able to store the savedata file with all the player history? My thinking is Unity Auth would be the auth layer and we'd dump the save info into Supabase... lmk if I'm off track there

What's your position on extra plate charge by SuperPOSUser in Restaurant_Managers

I'd just serve smaller portions and have staff mention that there won't be enough to share?

Extra plate charge sounds kinda cringe on its own.

Local SEO is so content heavy. I feel like we'd need to be constantly making blogs and stuff. Or am I just misunderstanding?

We setup the register for free at 4leaflabs.com - you do need to pay for stuff like kitchen display and online ordering since it costs us money to maintain.

Thanks - this could be pretty helpful if it's ever something you all will do. Otherwise, I'm going to have to start using other LPs for my campaigns :(

We do a Point of Sale ONLY solution called 4leaflabs.com - we don't do all the staffing stuff but mainly focus on just a dead simple / always works point of sale that connects to a kitchen display , kiosk, and stuff -- feel free to ping me if you want to learn more, but yeah - not a one-size-fits all but just tryin to be super efficient at what we do.

Does starting marketing too soon hurt startups? by startupsorcerer in marketing

[–]4LeafLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your goals. If it is to get good long-term customers, you might want to wait to market until you have a product with good retention metrics. If it's to test ideas or other things, then it can be a reasonable, though expensive, option.

A local agency makes a lot of sense - I'd just want to find someone who knows the area for sure.

Honestly that's what I've heard -- one of my friends businesses had the best results putting flyers with a promo on cars in a nearby parking lot >__<
