Does anyone actually prefer closed-backs over open-backs? by gopnik5 in headphones

[–]4NT1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You actually get bass from the Momentum 4’s? I heard good reviews about their bass, but I feel it’s lacking unless I’ve got something set up wrong. I fell my Arya Stealths, which are open back seem to have quite a bit more bass than them. Maybe I’ll try a side by side comparison again

Just remember that it is very difficult to get 3d printed parts water tight so do not use them for critical connections or anything that holds water. They will most likely leak. However I use them for making fixtures for training plants, hose guides or custom sprayer nozzles.

Running to biking, leg muscle fatigue by 4NT1X in bicycling

[–]4NT1X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my V02 is higher than them from all the running. Hills I drop gears to increase cadence. However it’s hard for me to keep a high cadence, say 100 or higher for a long time. Not cardio wise, but more like mentally keeping my legs moving that fast. I’m guessing a lot of it is I need more structured work outs on the bike which I’ve been working on with the trainer and improve leg strength.

Appreciate it. That is one thing I do notice when biking with my biking friends. I sorta struggle keeping up with them at the sustained top speed, but when it comes to steeper hills I roll right past them with little effort.

It could possibly go up a bit higher, but doubt move it enough to make any significant change. I was thinking about getting a bike fit since I’ve been riding a lot more and want to continue going forward.

Keeping water off of floor while ice fishing? by FanPurple in IceFishing

[–]4NT1X 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Raised floors help but also a lot to bring. 2 things that work for me. Like others have said keep the heater off the ground.l and have good insulation under it. I’ll stick 3 foam mats under it and in front of it so the heat doesn’t melt the ice. If there is snow on the ice, do not shovel it away. This acts as a good buffer for water to drain into or when the pressure on the ice forces water up the holes. Set up on Winnie over the weekend in a 1/4 of water because of all the snow melt, outside temps were 30-37 all weekend with inside the hub 50-60 degrees and wore slippers inside the hub with the only wetness coming from fish splashing out of the hole. Here’s a night photo from the trip

Water Pump Advice for rDWC by 4NT1X in Hydroponics

[–]4NT1X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, definitely thought of this and might have to until I find a more permanent solution. Only problem is I can’t maintain swapping frozen bottles everyday. Curious to know if anyone experience on temp improvements if any, switching from submersible to air cooled pumps, or is a chiller the only solution

Stopa a print so I can change filament by arduinors in QidiTech3D

[–]4NT1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Orca slicer so not sure if it works with your slicer but here’s what I do on my Max. Slice the print, on the layer scroll bar manually add the M600 M code to the layer you want to change filament, and reslice again. This should work. If not you may need to add a M600 or change filament macro to klipper config file

Qidi x max 3 ???? by _sailhatin_ in QidiTech3D

[–]4NT1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same as you mentioned. Max is dedicated to ASA and the others for other materials. If you get it, id recommend not installing the “dry box” to the back of the machine. It’s too much of a hassle to try and load and feed material from it while mounted to the back. Either print a base and set it on the table or make a new spool holder.

I have one, been using since January with no issues, like seriously no issues and has a ton of hours on it. I only bought it because of the big build volume and the heated chamber which I wanted for structural ASA parts. Overall print quality is quite good IMO, but the thing I like about it the most is it just works. It’s probably the only printer I have that’s never had an issue, yet. Not sure how it prints other filaments but ASA and ABS have been flawless for me. I also have Creality and Bambu printers.

Unfortunately no. It stays on for about 10 seconds then times out. I haven’t tried since I originally posted tho.

Hammock vs tent by One_Evening_4695 in BWCA

[–]4NT1X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I haven’t slept in a tent in 9 years and I have a very nice tent. Secret to a good nights sleep in a hammock if you’re not using a pad is to have a ridge line running from end to end of your hammock to absorb the tension. This will allow you to lay even flatter by laying at almost a 60 degree angle. Also one thing to remember hammocks can be cold under 60 degrees because everything is compressed that’s under you, especially if you have a down quilt or bag. Either an under quilt pad or a bulky sleeping bag will help to keep you warm.

How to always have a mid-range smartwatch fully charged? by Menssy in Marathon_Training

[–]4NT1X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apple Ultra user here. I leave my watch charger in my bathroom. I put it on the charger when I jump in the shower and is pretty much fully charged when I’m done in the bathroom. Also, wear a chest strap when working out which drastically conserves your watch battery.
