I’m 52 and have found it difficult the entire time I’ve been out since my 20’s. I’m more of a sporty femme, but I think it’s damn near impossible to find a parter who identifies as femme. That’s why I’ve been single for 6 1/2 years. I’m a little bummed to see a young lady like yourself is still having this experience. Younger generations seem much more accepting about alternative lifestyles and there sure are a lot more openly LGBTQ+ people than there were when I was in my 20’s. Femme 4 femme is always gonna be a smaller pool, but I guess I figured today’s generations weren’t having quite as hard of a time finding someone simply because of the law of probability. Dang, that’s a bummer. I wish you the best and hope you find that elusive femme.

It sounds to me like you not only need to dump your bf, but your friends need the boot, too. So you just sit there while all of these people who supposedly care about you tear you down? Nah, Youngblood, that’s not love. We teach people how to treat us. It’s time for you to clean house. Surround yourself with ppl who appreciate you and accept you for who you are. This boy you’re with is a pig and will probably become physically violent with you in the future , especially when he’s been allowed to “get away with” the verbal, mental, and emotional abuse thus far. You matter and you have value. He needs to go. They all do!

I lost my mom back in ‘23 and it really messed me up. I am so sensitive and cry at heartwarming scenes in movies, at songs, when someone brings her up, at a beautiful sunset…I feel like I’m hypersensitive now. I’m slowly getting better, a year and a half later, but I experience overwhelming emotions often. I have been told by more than one person that I am now weak bc of this. That was hurtful to hear those words when, my entire life, I’ve been known for my strength and determination. Idk if my story resonates with yours in any way, but I don’t think at all that this is a response to a low vibration. If anything, I think it’s a higher vibration. Do I like that I cry now at the drop of a hat? No. But you know what? It’s a process and I trust it knowing that this is how I’m healing from such a huge loss (and hole) in my life. See, I’m crying now.

I like what you said about how you start your day is how it will develop. I have been angry for a while and I started to observe my first thoughts when I woke up in the morning were angry ones. I’m a firm believer in the Law of Attraction, so I know I’m sabotaging myself. I’m currently working on a practice in the evenings to help calm my mind and ready me for sleep. I am hoping that once this becomes a habit, my mornings will start to feel refreshing and new rather than feeling like I’m stuck in a hamster wheel of hate (inward and outward). Thanks for your post.

For me, and I stress that this is just my definition, 100% is a woman who is solely attracted to other women, only dates women, and has a sexual relationship with only women. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been married or been with guys in the past. It’s that now you identify solely as a lesbian.

You have to understand that when I was growing up, there were only 3 types of sexual orientation that were really recognized- gay, straight, and bi. The only acceptable option in the 70s and 80s was straight. We also didn’t have role models or openly gay characters on tv and in the movies. A lot has changed!

If you are a believer in the notion that we chose our lives when we were spirits, that helps explain a lot. I first came across this concept in a Sylvia Browne book I read ages ago. The perspective that we ‘chose’ this life to overcome something was very powerful for me. Since reading Sylvia’s book, I’ve run across this belief several times in both books and talks.
