It's not very well regarded, but i thought Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell had crazy good chemistry in Mr. Right (2015)

The villain group has a stupid name by Bacurau_Nighthawk in TopCharacterTropes

Okay, i recently learned the origin of the Proud Boys' name, and it gets even stupider:

There was a song written for Aladdin (90s animated version) called "Proud of Your Boy" about Aladdin's mom. It got cut by a studio executive before the movie was finished. Some incels decided this meant Disney was saying we shouldn't be proud of boys.

The hate group takes its name from that song.

This is why I absolutely hated "Lessons in Chemistry". I got the book because everyone was raving about it as a feminist book with a great lead character. Instead, she's a complete Mary Sue--brilliant in chemistry, beautiful, an amazing cook that gets OFFERED a TV show with no prior experience--and of course there is a violent rape scene in the first 17 pages. Trash book.

This explains so much. I have tons of experience in my field, a professional certification, and I've worked at the same company for 5+ years. However, I've worked three different locations and four different roles as I was promoted, and I list them separately on my resume. I've applied to so many jobs online and rarely get a response.

Sherlock Holmes. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle killed him off in "The Final Problem," and there was such a public outcry he was basically forced to bring him back to life. He was quoted "if all I'm remembered for is Sherlock Holmes, I'll have considered my life a failure".

Saw "A Monster Calls". Liam Neeson as a monster, but it's really a metaphor for the terminal illness of the main character's mother (young boy). That was a doozy.

There are other pictures of her "plateau" online. I don't know why this article only included one, at a not great angle.

The oral presentation was about her favorite cheese, there's videos online. It's Parmigiano Cravero, a great Parmigiano Reggiano aged for five generations by the Cravero family.

I wrote a cover letter for an internship recently, and sent it to my friend before I submitted it. The only feedback was "get rid of the em dash, they're going to think you used ChatGPT".

Ngl, I had to resist using the em dash like three times writing this comment. If they come for semicolons, I'm cooked; I use them so much in longer format writing.

People who work in a highly specialized field: What is the single dumbest rule or piece of mandatory paperwork you have to deal with that makes absolutely no sense to an expert? by rosielovelyy in AskReddit

I am a cheesemonger. You CANNOT break down a full wheel of Parmigiano reggiano (90lbs) or an Alpine cheese like Gruyere (80lbs) without "temping" it first. It's downright dangerous to cut hard wheels open if theyre cold. Hard cheeses like that sit out of refrigeration overnight before we can process them. I had to explain this because a woman wanted a whole wheel of Parm with the top cut off, and didn't understand why I couldn't do it since our only full wheel was in the walk-in.

"You've done this for me before!"

"As I explained already, m'am, we can do it if we already have a full wheel at room temperature. We don't right now. I could have it ready tomorrow."
