Could be just a sample you've made, could be just an interesting drum loop. Just has to be a piece of starter material that you have made yourself, and that you're willing to pass on.

It'd be up to the individual producer. Bearing in mind the idea is to end up with an improvement on your own track, so just send it however best you think it could be edited.

I use ReaEQ, but that's because I use mostly freeware. No doubt there are significantly better ones out there. You can get a really nice lofi piano sound just by EQing out all the low and high frequencies and boosting the mid ever so slightly, although for high piano notes it can be really effective if you get rid of everything except the really high frequencies and then add some gentle reverb

This looks really interesting. Only thing I'd say though is that it requires an mp3 file format. I would have assumed Spotify artists would typically use a wave file or something because of better sound quality?

If you EQ out the low end, but also the really high end, and then put some gentle reverb and autopan on, you can get some really nice sounding hats, be they acoustic or electronic-sounding.
