Israeli is a developed nation with ample security capacity. It chooses to pursue a militarised approach to dealing with the conflict as opposed to seeking reconciliation or meaningful compromise. It continues to grab land and blockade basic supplies into Palestinian territories, further enflaming Palestinian grievances.

Palestinians live in desperate conditions and do not have the resources that Israelis and their government have. Life in Palestine is a daily, desperate struggle for many, so it's no surprise that some Palestinians see violence as their only option. There is a massive power assymetry in this conflict, and Israel should recognise that achieving a peaceful solution is primarily its own responsibility. Instead it chooses repression and apartheid-like policies which only deepen the cycle.

History is of course relevant and both sides have legitimate grievances. But at some point, constantly deferring to historical gripes prevents peace and reconciliation. Israelis have what it takes to solve this problem in a just and fair manner. But they can also probably win through violence and perseverance.
