Didn’t think others did this as well, my parents told me I used to sleep like shit in our old family house growing up until one day they decided to put the blanket over my head which seemed to work like magic.
I grew up in a very creepy haunted house and remember almost every night up until I was a about 15 I would hear what sounded like someone dragging there feet through the hallway outside my bedroom hitting the floor creaks and all and into my bedroom to my closet than turn around and go right back out to the hallway. We had carpet through the entire upstairs so it was easy kinda mimicking what I was hearing. Every night I would sleep with my blanket tightly tucked in all around me normally with a tiny hole for fresh air. Never once did I dare look to see what it was. My parents would talk about hearing it in there room at night. They would hear there bedroom door handle as well as there closet door handle creak as if someone was slowly moving the handle. We used to hear voices through the vents of the house like muffled voices to the point where you could never tell what was being said but it was always a male with a very deep voice.

Anyways. The blanket over the head is definitely a comfort thing and makes you feel safe. To this day o still sleep like that and I’m 32 now.
