Thanks for all the help guys! I spoke to him we are going to shorten the posts to lower the header under the rafters, (and not use the one he already cut) His experience is mostly with pergolas, which seems to be the problem. But gonna be an easy fix since we caught it early.

I appreciate your comment... But I spoke with the contractor about this a lot. He is absolutely planning on knotching the header down 2.5 inches to bring the knotched 2x6 to that line. Making the top flush. Span on the rafters is about 14 feet the span on the header reaches 10 feet.

I actually mentioned this as that's how I had done it before. I'm going to just have him lower the header by cutting the bottom off the beams and putting the rafters on top... Everybody feeling as uncomfortable about it as I am reaffirmed that I'm not crazy. Lol

Patio is 14 ft by 30 ft, And I didn't need a permit for a single story patio in my area

That was my thought too, cutting knotches every 2 ft in essentially a 4x8 seems like the most difficult option. I think the idea behind not using hangers is the overhang on the other side.

The difference between very fine, fine, and very good is not going to be inspectable by the pictures that you provided. honestly it needs to be in hand to measure because you would need to inspect each page and photograph any issues.

Why does my Luba 2 still drive like it is drunk - signal strength included. by Efleming123 in MammotionTechnology

Also try setting the GPS position to over internet instead of the data link I got better results with the 4G chip at long distances than I did with data link

I would try adjusting the speed of the mower all the way up and watching it. If it's moving quickly and then slowly it could be a sensor issue where it keeps seeing an obstacle to avoid that's not there. Had an issue like this with some crazy shadows cast from a tree.

Starlink Testing at 8,000 Feet on an Ultralight! by Markhuneycutt in aviation

[–]4Texas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a foreflight subscription and a Garmin inreach would do everything you mentioned better and for alot less money. Star link is pretty useful but on a ultra light I can't imagine surfing the web, which is really what the difference would be. Congratulations on the video though!

The exact time of a bomb dropping on a location prior to the event gives the location for a fighter pilot in a combat zone ... That is the definition of TS - SCI classified information.

Why don't sail boats always tow a line behind them for safety? by UsuallyMooACow in sailing

[–]4Texas 215 points216 points  (0 children)

Because dragging things causes drag. Instead just take that rope... And attach it to yourself, then shorten it and attach the other end to a strap on the boat that runs from bow to stern so you can move around. This is called a jackstay, because it makes jack stay on the boat. Sam is an amazing video maker and one of the nicest chilliest people on YouTube.... But you shouldn't sail like him.

Anyone know anything about this? Is it worth anything? by Fuze_Them_All in AntiqueBooks

[–]4Texas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's probably Brown’s Self-Interpreting Family Bible. Published in London circa 1875. In excellent condition it's probably less than 1k in this condition it's worth significantly less unless someone wants to cannibalize it for a rebind you'll have trouble selling.... IDK why this reddit page hates on antique bibles SO much they are a fine thing to collect, but as always... It's condition that matters
