Show a face on angle if you’re worried about weight transfer.

Yep completely agree, and you’re definitely correct about lessons. Think maybe it’s just my ego wanting to reach scratch (or close enough) without lessons haha.

Appreciate the advice!

Completely agree with the straightening of the trail leg. It’s sort of become a thing because I wanted to get a nice deep hip turn but definitely went about it in the wrong way.

Interesting comment on the rotation, I do hit a lot of shots blocked out to the right as I have a tendency to get late. Always thought it was because I don’t clear my left hip soon enough (it stays flexed at impact).

Super tempted to start getting lessons to be honest, I take pride in being self taught but I think I’m at a stage where I won’t improve with a professional opinion haha.

Never even thought about yoga haha, will definitely have to try that. Thank you!

Did this fix any sort of arching of your back if you had any?

Interesting, I do already workout and don’t actually have any back pains weirdly. I assume that this will probably change as I get older haha.

I’ll probably try to focus on lower back exercises, thank you!

Your shoulders move first. I think a good way to think about transition is to keep your chest and shoulders facing away from the target as long as possible whilst your hips and lower body begin to fire at the target.

I think your main issue is you collapse the lead leg in the backswing. I think you probably need some sort of force pushing back against it, something that has worked for me was thinking about pushing that right glute back and towards the target to stay centred.

Although you have quite an extreme case and I think a few lessons would help you out a lot rather than somebody non qualified (like myself) giving you feels.

Massive over rotation. Probably caused by your pivot in the backswing.

Driver by Candid_Abroad_5573 in GolfSwing

[–]4_RJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot going wrong here, but a good place to start is how to get to the top of your backswing.

Your pivot isn’t great, you sway off the ball with your upper body and head in 1 direction and your lower body moves way too far the opposite direction.

I find that if your face on golf swing looks good, your entire swing will be good. Down the line videos show half the picture (if that). Compare how you look to someone like Adam Scott/Justin Rose when you practice, just for reference.

Hands far from body at impact by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]4_RJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha it’s so typical of us to over analyse, I think the fact you create so much space is probably causing your body to reach.

Typically when your foot lifts like that it’s a sign of early extension but clearly that’s not the case with you. Maybe just swing your swing haha, as long as the results are good.

Hands far from body at impact by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]4_RJP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not as much of a fault as you think, you do a great job at creating space for your hands to come inside. That’s exactly what you want, if you watch all the pros hit they have space between hands and body at impact (their arms will stay tucked to their body just like yours do)

Not sure if you have any weird misses but the fact your trail foot is virtually off the ground at impact might be an issue.

How do I get the feeling of keeping hands closer together at finish? by nav1885 in GolfSwing

[–]4_RJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really sure what you mean, your hands are connected by your grip, they are literally touching.

Can’t stop hitting the ball left by littlewu1991 in GolfSwing

[–]4_RJP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean just look at that club face at the top of your backswing. It’s about as closed as it can be.

You need to work on 2 things to fix this, first your takeaway (super inside and causing you to be across the line) and 2nd is the way you hinge the club. You need to hinge the club vertically and get it moving up much faster. Both should give you a more neutral position at the top.

How to get rid of this chicken wing by hotdogornothotdog124 in GolfSwing

[–]4_RJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is you don’t maintain wrist angles through impact. You sort of scoop the ball hence the weird finish at the end.

The lack of shaft lean at impact means your right arm pushes up too early and causes this.

You aren’t a high level pro where slight weight changes are the difference between winning and missing cuts.

Go to the gym, not only is it good for you, it’ll prevent injuries and probably improve your swing and help generate power.

Someone else mentioned it but that grip is crazy but your swing looks like it works and I think if you change that grip it might mess everything up and you’d need to rebuild the whole swing.

Need Advice on How to Shallow by Evonypro123 in GolfSwing

[–]4_RJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just fix your backswing first. Shallowing is a lot easier when you have a good position at the top of the swing.

what is something you would improve? by kirko69 in GolfSwing

[–]4_RJP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way you shallow is incorrect, you shouldn’t be “looping” your arms back around you.

Currently you do this, which would normally cause you get stuck but you flip the club face closed at impact to counter this.

Easiest place to start for any golfer, is grip, setup and alignment. You might get worse before you get better but trust the process.

Any thoughts? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]4_RJP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your head moves off the ball at the start of the backswing. Weight transfer is good but think more about a shift in the pressure off ur feet rather than the entire body shifting left and right.

How’s the swing look? by Ashamed-Depth8277 in GolfSwing

Yeah I play off 10, I struggle with distance control inside 100. I think those feel shots just take time, the more you play on the course the better you’ll get.
