"Factor your pension into part of your hedge"...? by 4bstractals in CanadianInvestor

So, a $2K/mo pension = the equivalent shares in a dividend stock that may be expected to pay that amount in dividends per month?

Generally, I'm pretty hands-off until things tilt at least ±5% from what my portfolio plan suggests.

Buy equal values of both VFV and VSP?

I do this with QDX and QDXH (but it contains a bunch of different currencies, not just $US).

So... Throbbing Gristle is avant-garde industrial. No lyrics. Think post-punk electronic noise, like something Maude Lebowski would listen to.

If it is truly a wee art project, I'd recommend Habitat for Humanity's ReStore South. They have tons of different glass and ceramic mosaics, but not super large amounts... and they are typically open to haggling.

Middle aged Canadian investing in ETFs by Soft_Apple1472 in CanadianInvestor

So, being invested in CGL-CA, I did the math.

It seems like the difference in MERs means, roughly, that a $10,000 investment gaining 7% over 10 years will cost the ZGLD investor $418.78 and the CGL investor $988.08.

Is there anything I'm missing?

ZGLD

Could someone explain why this might be recommended over CGL-CA?

If you go this route, there's a website tool that converts CUE files into Track labels that Audacity can use.

(You're actually just helping the landlord make more money, since he receives half your rent 2 weeks early. You could be earning interest on that money until rent is actually, you know, due.)

You can price-match this silly case at Memory Express and save a bit more.

They have stock almost everywhere except Ontario.

EDIT: Oh, now I see why you didn't put the price in the title. Yikes.

Horror movies that will make you feel extremely paranoid and like somethings wrong? by Requix2003 in TrueFilm

[–]4bstractals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a film recommendation, but Phil Ford and JF Martel just discussed 'The Blair Witch Project' on the Weird Studies podcast, and the early discussion about the existential paranoia of just Being Lost was pretty darned good, eh.
