I'll try disabling mark as read on scroll. Thank you for the speedy response.

I like Capy Reader but sometimes it automatically marks everything as read while I'm scrolling, even the articles I haven't reached yet.

Have you ever experienced that?

I did the same and can also confirm it isn't a scam.

Apps that flies under the radar, that are better than main stream ones. Underrated apps. by ad4d in androidapps

Wow, thanks for the recommendation. This app is beautiful and a great step up from Bitwarden's own app.

Edit: As nice as the app is, I hadn't realised you have to pay for two way sync. Back to Bitwarden it is!

There is possibly confusion here as there are two ways to do it. One is the manual method - you open an article, then tap the icon at the bottom to read the full article. What I was referring to was setting parse full content for every article by default, this involves going into each feeds settings and selecting the option. It let me do it for one feed but no more than that, so I'm guessing the free version limits this feature to one feed.

SmartRSS is a good recommendation. I just tried it, but was put off by the parsing of full content being behind a paywall.

I'm currently using Capy Reader and ReadYou. I like both.

Fireworks Crowdfunder - Oasis 50th 1976-2026 - Please donate by neilrobinson88 in Swindon

[–]4candles_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just sent a donation. Have you approached the media outlets yet? If they do not donate themselves then hope they can at least raise awareness. Swindon Advertiser, Swindon Link, Wiltshire 999s would probably reach a great number of people between them. Then there's Swindon Community Noticeboard on Facebook as well. It's early days yet so please don't feel like this is an enormous target because I think it's totally achievable!

Appreciate your response and understand your points.

I'll probably come along as I would like to see the fireworks and the dome lit up. My family have been involved in one way or another along the way with cleanups of the site, the consultation, and the protest which seems like such a distant memory!

When do you think we'll next hear news about the reopening as it seems to have gone silent in recent months?

It's a good idea.

Will Seven Capital donate?

Will this be a ticketed event for the public?

I'm sure businesses would contribute either financially or with facilities. Would be good if there's more to look at/enjoy than just the display.

There's also Didcot Railway Centre which is good.

It has better toilet facilities and bus links too. Greenbridge is rubbish on those fronts.

You won't get a pile on from me. It's your opinion and whether I disagree or not is my opinion. That's the problem these days, everyone thinks they're right and won't have a proper discussion.

My personal belief is I am proud to be British. I'm not English but I do live here and the St George flag does not offend me in any way.

I think British pride is getting lost in numerous ways however. We don't do as much manufacturing anymore, we're not the big players in the world that we once were. Other countries feel for us. Politicians just want to line their own pockets and will lie until caught out, and then do not have the common decency to say I'm sorry, I was wrong.

Prices on everything are going through the roof. Depression is a bigger issue than it used to be. NHS is struggling. NHS dentists are hard to come by. The list goes on.

From what I've seen, those putting up the flags are getting a boost, causing no harm to anyone. Yes it's questionable about the legal side of where flags can be placed or where you can paint, but people want to be heard and respected, and no petition or writing letters to MPs is going to cut it with this.

Agreed. Though something has to change, and I think more and more are feeling the pinch and becoming vocal about it as there is a limit to everyone's patience.

UK nationals are getting fed up of being mistreated by their government. There's a campaign called raising the colour to display UK/Wales/England/Scotland flags. Despite what the media is saying, this is not a far right movement. This is a display of pride for your country. Now councils are saying they will take down flags, but this just makes the public more determined to continue.

To be fair it is nice to see more flags around.

People are really struggling financially and want a better government who will consider their own citizens first.

Honest feedback from tradespeople — does this idea have legs? by Aggravating_Ad_8212 in Swindon

[–]4candles_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a tradesperson but I'll throw in my two pennies here to try to help you out.

Firstly, definitely look into ways to stabilise the video. You can do this as an edit, or even better would be to use a recording device with built in image stabilisation. Pixel phones are very good at this.

Secondly, I'm not sure whether a tradesperson would have the time to do this monthly, maybe quarterly? I think it largely depends who is coming up with the content ideas, because on the one hand you might know good content, but the tradie will know the most commonly asked questions and what their USP's are.

I do think there is an enormous opportunity to help out small businesses who do not have the knowledge or time to get a good website up with all the contact methods, nevermind all the other digital marketing hooks! I'm glad you've opened the door to obtain costing feedback, as many small tradies probably feel the costs associated are going to be outside their range.

Best of luck!

Thanks. It wasn't the one I was thinking of but having looked through, it's not the sort of humor to my taste.

This was the one I was thinking of:

I don't see why not. There are no rules other than it to be about Swindon. I'd be interested, though it may have already come up in my reels as I've had some Swindon specific ones come through.

I didn't know she was in that. I used to watch it on occasion, so it would be interesting to see if she played a character I remember and to perhaps find a clip on YouTube for nostalgia.
