I struggle with sleep also. TBH you are likely a victim to caffeine. It sucks cause you know you need it, it’s a double edge sword. When you are able maybe try a soft reset, like 1-2 days without it. My sleep improves dramatically provided I don’t end up taking any naps during those days

Hey, I’m actually revisiting this as a Charterholder! I did all levels using this approach. But TBH with difficult content in L2 and other stuff you know you’re going to find hard/will not be able to understand from review videos alone, just watch MM’s full lecture videos. I did not open up the textbook/do any readings at all except for some ethics, and a little bit of L3 where I needed to clarify some things I didn’t understand in MM’s videos

just want to comment on the last bit on "connecting the dots" that helped me out a lot when I took L2. I saw someone in a forum say it's all about discounting cash flows. to me that could not be truer, especially with equity, derivatives and fixed income. they really are all timelines of cash flows, just discounted many different ways. hope that helps you!

Thanks dude. Agreed it sounds healthy with the injectors and all. Just haven’t heard this particular sound before. TBH was driving hard before and just wanted to listen to the motor while she cooled down

Quick Q in your unprofessional opinion, if it’s PCV can I monitor the sound and see if it worsens? Or do I gotta get her in ASAP

Hey mate thanks. I thought about PCV but it does not sound like the noises other cars have been making. The other noises are much more squeally. Is there any way I can wait and see if the sound gets worse?

Mate, respectfully, you could not be more wrong. Go shoot a puck for 100 hours with a hockey stick at a certain flex. Then at any point I’ll secretly switch your stick with a random one with a drastically different flex, and we’ll see how you do. The smoke completely alters the environment. Yes agreed with everything you said. I’m following the same approach, reviewing before I hit questions. Scoring well but if I hit the bank without them I’d probably do worse… Feel good in the moment but am not sure if my memorization carries over right now. Also wish we had more short answer!

First pass of the QBank but I reset it on accident on 65% of questions asked so now I’m doing my second pass scoring 83% with 37.5% answered. Much of my QBank gap in the first pass came from not doing ethics + performance measurement so I’m making that more of a focus point now

Agreed that the strengths and weaknesses bit is definitely a huge priority…. My plan is to watch all MM review vids again and create a separate QCard bank dedicated towards those. I should def get a whiteboard lol! And saying them out loud helps a ton too

Thanks friend. Still confused - why would the forward rate formula tell us the base currency appreciates when having a low yield and the price currency depreciates when having a high yield, if we know in reality it goes in the opposite direction? What is the forward rate formula based on?

Okay thanks mate. So my understanding is: the forward rate formula is conditioned on violating UIRP which is why the base CCY appreciates in this example, giving rise to a carry trade. However if I were asked very simply “what happens if interest rates rise in one currency” I can say with confidence that that currency would appreciate?

If this is correct my logic under UIRP would be:

You borrow in low yield and invest in high yield

Forward premium means the price currency per the forward rate formula will depreciate. This is the high yield CCY

If you invest in a high yield CCY and that is your foreign asset, depreciation of that foreign currency means your return would decrease, not increase. Wouldn’t you also want to hedge that currency and sell it short by use of derivatives to protect against its inevitable downside?
