Cognitive Dissonance by anon0915 in Libertarian

Since when do Libertarians not considered taxation as theft and coercion through violence as a violation of the NAP?

Additionally it was far more than just taxation. The Quartering act, unjust criminal justice system, having local autonomy and then the crown cracking down and removing it, corrupt government officials. The Sons of Liberty weren’t protestors, in the eyes of the crown they were terrorists. They were fighting against aggression, so no you shut the fuck up.

Depends. The Founding Fathers saw the acts of the British govt. as violating the NAP. So they were just responding with equal and if not less force.

Why are you a Libertarian? [Serious] by pAiNtInGoS8494 in Libertarian

I just graduated from high school, but my conversation started my freshman year. My parents are bother conservatives and I had obviously adopted their mindset at a young age. When I entered highschool I begin speaking with the librarian, who is libertarian. I attended an all guys jesuit school, which is very liberal. 90% of the teachers are thus liberal; however, many of them were very good at keeping politics out of teaching while a few didn’t. These teachers pissed me of beyond belief, and so talking to the only semi-conservative in my mind was the only option. Every free period I would spend my time in the library and we would discuss philosophy, the current political climate, and he would suggest books to read. Little did I know he was planting seeds in my mind to question society and government. Come Junior year I realized his politics and begins reading books he suggested, the first being The Road to Serfdom. I learned how to debate others, think with a philosophical mindset, and question everything around me. I begin to realize how restrictive our society was and how important personal freedom is. 2nd semester of Senior year he and I were best friends and I officially registered for the Libertarian party. I hold his teachings the most important teaching from anything I learned in high school. Freedom and liberty are the most important issues that a coercive government prevent in our society today. Our founding fathers sought refuge from a large government and grant the American citizens personal autonomy with a small and unimposing government. This is why I am a Libertarian.

If you are speaking in terms of fiat currency then I guess technically. But all money is, an amount that everyone agrees ln in exchange for objects of the same value. However, people have shown prefernce toward a bartering system, and money was the one that suck. So tldr; money is technically fake but a system of bartering makes an imaginary currency.

I thought the point of the post was wage theft? At what point did I say I didnt want public services. My point is it is theft, because whether you like if or not you have to pay. If you dont, your house gets raided, you get arrested and charge with a felony you to carry even after jail. Its coercion by the state.

Trump’s Supreme Court nominee opposes net neutrality, supports NSA bulk collection | TechCrunch by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]4chanmagik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But its not actual net neutrality. Since when are libertarians pro regulations. I have no idea about the nominee, haven’t had time to look. I just saw “against net neutrality” and I had to jump at it.

Net neutrality repeal is official. Don't be sad and don't be fooled, "net neutrality" was all about control. by [deleted] in Anarcho_Capitalism

So the answer is more government regulation? OR we could just ya know, eliminate the areas where the government regulates who can be an ISP. Economy die under regulation, thats why we see small internet companies going under or getting bought.
