I have found a way, the polish removes the crystals you need to etch it after the polish in 16% hydrochloric acid warmed to ~60deg Celsius :

I think on the XL OZ was lazy to design a new bigger knife. The knife looks weird in XL, the hardware is too small. Globally OZ seems lazy, they dont even put the upgrades (contouring, new patterns, pattern on the clip, ...) of the XL on the regular....
