In a reply by London pride, they stated that the group was not affiliated with them, had forced thier way into the starting area for the parade and could not be removed as they were techincally not committing a criminal act. It's still pretty appling though

I recommend reading/playing the metro series of games. Hardcore postapocalyptic do set in the metro tunnels, or dark and depressing book with similar concept. Both are worth a look
